Constanta Travel 2018 Romania Guide Tour Constanta 2018 is located in the county of the same name, in the southeastern part of Romania. It is located on the Black Sea coast, in a lagoon to the east, hilly in the north and in the central part, and in the plain to the south and west. The city of Constanţa has a 6 km long private beach. Constanta Romania 2018 was founded after the Greek colonization of the Black Sea basin (Greek Pontos Euxeinos) by the merciful colonists in the 7th-5th centuries BC, under the name of Tomis. This name is probably derived from the Greek word (Tomí) meaning cut, cleavage. According to the legend, Iason and his arrogates would have been here after they were sent to the Caucasus to steal the "Golden Wool." Followed by King Colhide's fleet, Aietes "Uliul", he had cut off his son, Absyrtos, until then held hostage on board to force the king to seek and gather the remains for the funeral ceremony, giving the Argonautes The time required to run for the Bosphorus. However, archaeologists consider it more plausible that the cut (shoreline) would rather have designated the ancient port, today submerged, in front of the Casino. Another possible origin of the name would be Tomiris, the Queen of the Massages, a getic tribe living between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea (Herodotus). The Milezians found a getic settlement in these places, the new city reaching the level of a polis only in the IV-III century BC. The port used by the Greeks to trade with the inhabitants of these regions (Dacians, Scythians and Celts) Of an urban center. Tomis became part of the Roman Empire in the year 46, being renamed Constantiana. Publius Ovidius Naso, the Roman poet, found his exile between 8-17 years. And spent the last eight years in Constantia in Constanta. Constanta the most beautiful city in the world! It is situated on the Black Sea coast, in a lagoon area to the east, hilly in the north and in the central part, and the plain to the south and west. The city of Constanţa has a 6 km long private beach. The northern part of the city, Mamaia, the most populated tourist resort on the seaside, lies on the shores of a lagoon, with a beach of 7 km long, a beach that continues with another 6 km of Navodari territory. The city is bordered by the towns of Năvodari and Ovidiu to the north, Agigea commune to the south (with these three settlements glued), the town of Murfatlar and the commune of Valu lui Traian to the west, the town of Techirghiol and the commune Cumpăna to the southwest and the Black Sea to the east. Constanta is divided into districts: traditional ones such as Anadolu (Anadol-Köy in Turkish), Tâccăria, Brotacei, North Faleza, Coiciu, Palas, Medea, Bratianu, Center, Peninsula, Agigea or Viile Noi, such as Tomis I, II, III and North, Abator, CET, Km 4, 4-5 and 5, South Fale and other poetic names, legacies of the "golden age". The city of Constanța is one of the most important in Romania, one of four roughly equal-size cities which rank after Bucharest. The Constanța metropolitan area, founded in 2007, comprises 14 localities located at a maximum distance of 30 km (19 mi) from the city, and, with 387,593 inhabitants,it is the third largest metropolitan area in Romania.Situated at the crossroads of several commercial routes, Constanța lies on the western coast of the Black Sea, 185 miles (298 km) from the Bosphorus Strait. An ancient metropolis and Romania's largest sea port, Constanța traces its history some 2,500 years. Originally called Tomis, legend has it that Jason landed here with the Argonauts after finding the Golden Fleece. Tomis Blues - Live in Constanta

03:20
The modern city of Constanta, with a population of more than 348,000, is located on the western coast of the Black Sea and is the principal seaport for Romania. It is the site of the ancient Greek city of Tomis, colonized in the 6th century B.C. In the 1st century A.D. Tomis became a flourishing provincial capital of the Roman Empire. It acquired its current name from the emperor Constantine I. Today, Constanta is a thriving port-of-entry for Romania, offering both tourist attractions and an expanding, modern port facility that is among the largest on the Black Sea. The crew of STS-112 acquired this detailed digital image of the city on October 17, 2002, using a 400-mm lens. The older part of the city is situated near the large coastal lagoon to the north, while to the south the port facilities are connected to the Danube Rivers import shipping commerce via the 64-km Danube Black Sea Canal. Danube Bike Path 5: From the Iron Gates to the Black Sea

In the summer of 2014 I start my fifth and final leg of the Danube cycle path through Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania. The trip ends in the Danube Delta (Tulcea) and at the shores of the Black Sea (Constanta). I encounter vast landscapes, but also much more hills and trucks than expected. Russe, the cave monasteries of Ivanovo and the port city of Constanta are the highlights of this cycle tour.

Black Sea becoming a new route for migrants seeking new lives

02:58
(13 Sep 2017) The use of the latest monitoring equipment has enabled Romania to rescue more than 150 migrants from a ship in distress on the Black Sea. Romania's coast guard on Wednesday saved 157 migrants from Iraq and Iran from what is becoming a new route for migrants trying to reach Western Europe. The Integrated System for Observation, Surveillance and Control of the Traffic at the Black Sea (SCOMAR), which identified the stricken ship, was put in place with EU funds and monitors Romanian territorial waters around the clock. Authorities initially spotted the ship outside Romanian territorial waters on Tuesday morning. It sent a distress signal and two coast guard boats were dispatched, but high waves and winds hampered rescue efforts at sea before the ship was towed to Black Sea port of Constanta before dawn on Wednesday. Migrants are increasingly trying to cross the Black Sea from Turkey to reach Romania. Last weekend, coast guard forces from Romania and Bulgaria intercepted 217 migrants in the Black Sea in two boats who were suspected of trying to illegally enter Romania. Any new influx of migrants through the Black Sea could further exacerbate political strains within the European Union over the issue. On Sept, 3, Romania's coastguard stopped a fishing vessel carrying 87 migrants in the Black Sea sailing toward the Romanian coast. And last month, the coast guard halted a fishing boat carrying 70 migrants suspected of trying to illegally enter Romania.
