Creating a CSS Rule for the Column

06:37
In this free lesson from video2brain's course, Exploring CSS Positioning, Candyce Mairs shows why it's much easier to see where the left div is located on the page if we create a CSS style rule for the div and add both a border and a width property to it. In this video we will begin to build the style rules for the left div in order to control both the box and the content within the box. IMPROVE YOUR NOTES » five ways

05:06
First of all, the first tip is to pick a notebook that is pleasing to the eye, efficient and sturdy enough to hold all of your notes, for a long time. I picked a single notebook for all of my semester's notes. The notebook I picked is a Moleskine Pro A4 notebook with dotted pages and it has two key features that make it so functional for notetaking - numbered pages and a table of contents. Since I am using a notebook for all of my classes, it was very important for me to be able to number the pages and index the different class topics and subjects in a table of contents and the fact that this notebook already has these two components make my job much easier. Although this doesn't count as a tip for the note taking in itself, it is definitely a big part of the organization of my notes and I suggest you to apply the same concept in all of your notebooks. The second tip is to use two columns instead of writing across the whole page. It allows me to have much more flexibility when taking notes during class, since I am never able to fully anticipate the lecturer's speech. The fact that I can write horizontally in two different spots allows me to add comments, examples and corrections instead of having to worry about cramping all the information I am hearing into the same space. The way you use this method is really up to you, but I think you should try it out at least for one day. The third tip is to use color but with caution. As a rule, I only use two colored pens for each set of notes. On the other side, using only two pens makes note taking in itself much more efficient, since I don't need to lose time choosing between too many different colors when I should really be paying attention to class. The fourth tip is to learn how to arrange the space in the pages of your notebook. If you are using your class notebook as a transitional source of information, like if you are going to rewrite all of your notes when you get home, this might not be a problem. However, if you are thinking of your notebook as the ultimate source of information when studying for an exam, it will be important to think of your handwriting and, most of all, of how you arrange the space in the page. If you want to use the column method, sometimes you will not have information to add in the second column. Although this can leave a blank portion in the page that you desperately want to fill in, leave the blank space in there. This can be beneficial for two reasons: first of all, your page will look cleaner and reviewing for a test or exam will be much easier if you give your eyes an easier time looking for specific information. Secondly, allowing yourself for some blank space between notes also lets you write your own personal comments in between in future study sessions, something that I highly suggest if you are into active reading. Finally, learn how to efficiently cover up mistakes. Tons of people ask me how I am able to take notes without ever making mistakes. Well, since I am currently taking English courses and my first language is Portuguese, believe me when I say that I make mistakes, and a quite a few of them, actually. However, since I am the only one reading my own notes, if I make any grammar or vocabulary mistakes, I will either leave the word as it is, as it will not compromise my learning of the subject, or I will rewrite it in front of the wrong word and underline it. If my mistake compromises my knowledge on the topic if I read it in the future, as if I wrote down wrong information, I will strike it through as neatly as I can. Overall, this will result in notes as spotless as they can be, and it will not make a difference at all. m y b l o g : https://www.marianastudycorner.com Moleskine Notebook: https://goo.gl/sbkNNC ► s u b s c r i b e https://goo.gl/5pSFSM F T C : This video is not sponsored. ► o t h e r v i d e o s: ✦ My Morning Study Routine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-7oe380T3I ✦ How to Stay Focused: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwUgVD3ejmA ✦ My New Productivity Habit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nv61zbXaq58 ✦ How to Stop Procrastinating: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlJ2AED7Wqw +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ - f o l l o w m e o n s o c i a l m e d i a : t um b l r : http://studywithmariana.tumblr.com/ i n s t a g r a m: https://www.instagram.com/marianavieirayt/ study, tips, Study Tips, Study Tricks, Exam Tips, Exam Tricks, study hacks, study skills, straight A's, A+, class notes, study notes, note taking, take notes, best ways to study, filofax organization, how to beat procrastination, amazing study tips, School, High School, high school, College, University, Organization, Organisation, to plan for school, planning fror students, routine, morning routine, study morning routine, morning routine, routine, bullet journal, bujo, nbullet journal

How To Shade Every Other Line in Excel with Conditional Formatting

03:58
****Read the comments section for tweaks to the formula that are needed for different regions (and I posted a recent comment about Microsoft 365 (from a viewer in South Africa) down below in these video details.)**** Different versions of the program require different characters (commas vs. semi-colon etc.) How to shade every other line on an Excel spreadsheet using conditional formatting. First, select the area of the spreadsheet you wish to have alternating lines shaded. Then From the Home tab --Conditional Formatting --New Rule --Use a formula to determine which cells to format --Format values where this formula is true: =MOD(ROW(),2)=0 Select the Format button -- select a color for your alternating line shade --OK --OK Recent (October 2018) comment from a viewer regarding Microsoft 365: "On my version of Excel (Microsoft 365) the formula uses a semicolon in place of the comma. This took me a while to figure out. If the formula doesn't work for you try =MOD(ROW();2)=0. "

Watch more HTML Tutorials videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/480438-HTML-Tutorial-Page-Formatting "Hi, I am Daniel Davis. I am a certified computer expert and tech guru. Along with having one of the top tech channels on youtube, my work has also been featured in textbooks, software guides, and hundreds of popular tech blogs. And today I am going to be talking to you about HTML. Html is the coding language that webpages are written in. To create a basic webpage all you need is a text editor, such as notepad in Windows or Text Edit in Mac and a web browser. Html separates the different sections of the webpage using what's called markup tags. These are characterized by angled brackets. Within the website you'll see a head section and a body section. The body section is where the content of the webpage goes. To add text to your webpage, you can use the p markup tag for paragraph. Add your text and then close off the markup tag like this. In order to align the text to the page you need to add what's called an attribute to the p tag that reads align equals center or right or left depending on how you want it align it. By adding a font tag you can add size and color attributes to change the size and color of the font. Anytime you want to preview your webpage just save it as an html file and open it up in a web browser. Likewise to add a picture, you can add an img markup tag and use the src attribute to set it equal to the image location. You can use the center tags to align it to the center of the page. By adding attributes to the body tag you can change the settings for the entire page. For instance you can set the background color , the background image and the text color from here. When it comes to formatting pages, the basic approach would be to add page breaks like this which breaks the content into separate lines. Or you could use horizontal rules like this, which separates content using a horizontal line. A more advanced way though would be to use tables. To create a basic table you start by adding the table markup tags, then in between them you can add the row markup tags. You can add an opening and closing row tag for however many rows that you want in the table. Then in between each row tag, you want to add the data cell tags which will create the columns. If I add 2 columns to the first row then to keep the table even, I need to add 2 columns to each of the remaining rows. It's in between these td tags that you'll place your content. Like with all the other previous markup tags, you can add attributes to change the look of the tables, such as the background color, the border size, cell padding and alignment. If you want the table to be invisible, just set the border size to zero. Another option you have for organizing your content is through using lists. There's 2 types of lists, numbered or organized listed denoted by the ol markup tag, and bulleted or unorganized lists denoted by the ul markup tag. Each item in the list will be surrounded by li markup tags to show that they are list items. So that should get you started with getting your webpage data formatted and organized. "

CSS Tutorial | Multi Columns

08:02
Topic: CSS (also known as Cascading Style Sheets) Facebook: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CaucasianMark/ This is my second tutorial. I am covering CSS. Next I will do HTML and Javascript and so on. If you have any questions then send them my way. Don’t get to like, share subscribe, and leave a positive comment below. About CSS: Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a style sheet language used for describing the presentation of a document written in a markup language. Although most often used to set the visual style of web pages and user interfaces written in HTML and XHTML, the language can be applied to any XML document, including plain XML, SVG and XUL, and is applicable to rendering in speech, or on other media. Along with HTML and JavaScript, CSS is a cornerstone technology used by most websites to create visually engaging webpages, user interfaces for web applications, and user interfaces for many mobile applications. CSS is designed primarily to enable the separation of document content from document presentation, including aspects such as the layout, colors, and fonts. This separation can improve content accessibility, provide more flexibility and control in the specification of presentation characteristics, enable multiple HTML pages to share formatting by specifying the relevant CSS in a separate .css file, and reduce complexity and repetition in the structural content. This separation of formatting and content makes it possible to present the same markup page in different styles for different rendering methods, such as on-screen, in print, by voice (when read out by a speech-based browser or screen reader) and on Braille-based, tactile devices. It can also be used to display the web page differently depending on the screen size or device on which it is being viewed. Readers can also specify a different style sheet, such as a CSS file stored on their own computer, to override the one the author has specified. Changes to the graphic design of a document (or hundreds of documents) can be applied quickly and easily, by editing a few lines in the CSS file they use, rather than by changing markup in the documents. The CSS specification describes a priority scheme to determine which style rules apply if more than one rule matches against a particular element. In this so-called cascade, priorities (or weights) are calculated and assigned to rules, so that the results are predictable. The CSS specifications are maintained by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Internet media type (MIME type) text/css is registered for use with CSS by RFC 2318 (March 1998). The W3C operates a free CSS validation service for CSS documents. CSS3 Tutorial for Beginners: 07 Writing Multiple Selectors & Rule For Multiple Elements

04:44
CSS3 Tutorial for Beginners: 07 Writing Multiple Selectors & Rule For Multiple Elements ★ SUMMARY ★ If you want multiple elements of your HTML to have the same style properties, you don't have to write them down one by one in your CSS code. Instead, what you can do in order to make your code shorter, cleaner and less redundant, is use multiple selectors or multiple rules. In this video, you're going to learn how to use multiple selectors in order to change certain properties of multiple elements Simultaneously. For example, you can give your p elements and your h2 elements the same background color, without having to write down the same code twice. I'll show you different examples, and you'll also learn what to do if you want two or more elements to have the same value for some properties but different values for other properties. 1.Introduction to Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).

16:13
CSS, or cascading style sheets, are used to describe the visual style and presentation of a document, most commonly web sites. One of the purposes of CSS is to separate the presentation of a document from the structure and content (although it is possible to embed CSS within the structure as well), and is a W3C recommendation. Separation of style from structure and content increases maintainability for the author(s) of a document as well as accessibility for the audience. CSS is commonly applied to HTML, XHTML and XML documents, though it is possible, albeit rare, to apply it to other types of documents as well. CSS is one way of describing the "style" -- the colors, fonts, layout, and other "presentation" aspects of a document. A single CSS file can describe a common "style" to be applied to many HTML, XHTML, and XML documents (which describe the content and structure of the elements of each document). Typically a particular element in a XHTML file has a "cascade" of CSS style rules that can be applied to it. The highest priority style rule is applied to each element. Cascading Style Sheets Syntax ======================= body { background-color : #000000; font-family : Georgia, "Times New Roman", Times, serif; font-size : 100%; color : #ffffff; margin : 0; padding : 0; text-align : center; } h1 { font-family : Georgia, "Times New Roman", Times, serif; font-size : 16px; color : #ffffff; font-style : normal; font-weight : normal; letter-spacing : 0.1em; } h2 { font-family : Georgia, "Times New Roman", Times, serif; font-size : 12px; font-style : italic; font-weight : bold; color : #ffffff; text-decoration : underline; } p { font-family : Georgia, "Times New Roman", Times, serif; font-size : 12px; font-style : normal; color : #ffffff; }

21. Warren Buffett Intrinsic Value Calculation - Rule 4

For us, we've defined the life as the next ten years. This way, we can discount that cash by the 10 year federal note. The Cash that we are taking out of the business is simply the dividends and the book value growth during the next 10 years. Since these numbers need to be estimated, it's very important to ensure that Warren Buffett's third rule (a stock must be stable and understandable) is met. When a company doesn't have a history of linear growth, estimating the cash that they will produce for the next ten years becomes more speculative. When we look at the root of the intrinsic value calculator, it operates off of the same principals as a bond calculator. Instead of using coupons, we substitute dividends. And instead of using par value (or value at maturity) we estimate the book value of the business in 10 years. The value that we use to discount the summation of the cash is simply the 10 year federal note. Although the previous paragraph might sound confusing to some, it's application is fairly straight forward. The reason Buffett says, "Two people looking at the same set of facts, will almost inevitably come up with at least slightly different intrinsic value figures," is due to a difference in opinion of the future cash flows. Since some investors are more conservative than others, their estimates of book value growth or dividend payments may be lower. This will immediately change the intrinsic value. Your job as an intelligent investor is to determine your own tolerance for risk and conservative estimates on how much money you will receive while owning the stock for a 10 year period. If you ever have difficulty understanding the material, simply click on the link for the forum above. Be sure to sign-up for an account and ask any questions you might have. Just because you didn't understand something in this lesson, doesn't mean you have to simply give up on the process. If you would like to learn more about how this calculator works, be sure to read this article published by Preston: It is here: http://ezinearticles.com/?How-to-Calculate-the-Intrinsic-Value-of-Stocks-Like-Warren-Buffett&id=7262028
