If you stick to these ten tips to lose body fat and reduce your body fat, you will see progress. The secret to losing body fat and reducing your weight is sticking to a diet. This video will give you ten ideas on how to stick to your diet and achieve results. Body fat - everyone either has tried to lose it, is in the process of losing it, or lost it and unfortunately found it again. Are you attempting to slim down to get your fine ass even finer? Aaron Marino of alpha m. is giving ten fat loss tips to lose body fat, and stick to a diet. If you want someone to blow smoke up your ass, Alpha isn't doing it! Only 10% of fat loss has to do with exercise. 90% is the diet, and it's the tough part. Diet is something you have to pay attention to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 1. Diet plan - You need to prepare and have a plan that is thought out and structured. 2. Preparation - Prepare meals ahead of time in mass quantity so your diet doesn't get sabotaged. 3. Get rid of the crappy food in your house - if the stuff isn't there, you're not going to eat it. 4. Limit the amount you eat out - if you aren't aware of the food preparation process, you aren't aware of the added fat, preservatives, and salt added. If you do eat out, decide online what you want before you go and don't even open the menu when you're at the restaurant. 5. Drink a minimum of 2 to 3 liters of water a day - you can flavor with lemon 6. Don't live-and-die by the number on the scale - fluctuations will happen but a consistency downward direction is necessary. Weigh once to twice a week. 7. Think of it as a lifestyle change and modification - this is not short term! It's changing your habits. 8. Don't focus on the calories you're consuming - focus on the quality calories you are consuming. 9. Give yourself the freedom to cheat 'every once-in-awhile' - indulge once or twice a week. Indulge doesn't mean going nuts and freakin' crazy. 10. If you fall off the weight-loss horse, dust yourself off and get back on - the successful people don't beat themselves off. It's hard but you're the only one that matters. You may fall off 27 freakin' times, but it only takes 1 time to ride that puppy into the sunset. You just need to give yourself permission to succeed. You’d be right. That said, getting abs still remains rather elusive to many and certainly being able to maintain them year round is even harder. Not any more. In this video, I show you a 5 step plan for how to get a 6 pack that you can use to start getting your abs to show fast. Despite the fact that many are aware of the importance of proper nutrition when it comes to getting abs, it is still a mighty struggle to get them. It usually comes down to the methods those people are using to try and get them in the first place. Crash diet plans and temporary deprivation based tactics are not going to cut it long term if you want to get and keep your abs. Anything that forces you to feel as if you’re missing out or be deprived of what you really want is only going to be a temporary solution at best. As soon as you get tired of not having what you want, you’ll quickly give in and lose your ability to keep your hard earned abs. That said, the 5 step formula for getting a 6 pack starts with cutting out the obvious crap foods from your diet. You should know pretty quickly what these are. It’s the cakes, sweets, alcohol, fatty salad dressings, etc that just scream problems the minute you eat them. You know what they are and that means you know they should be gone, so do it. There’s never been a better time than now to start making the changes that are going to dramatically help you in your pursuit of your abs. Next step is to start eating more often. Yep, despite what keyboard scientists who read a few articles on google scholar want you to believe, there are far more important reasons to be eating more frequently throughout the day than whether or not this is maximally anabolic. I cover these for you in the video. Next up, you’re going to want to take another pass through that diet of yours. On this second time through, you’re going to want to remove the less obvious items that aren’t helping you as best they can to get your 6 pack abs. For me, I lay out three perfect examples. I thought these foods were healthy but I was only partially right. How they were being prepared was making all the difference in me seeing my abs consistently…or not. Moving on, you now want to eat more of the good foods you swapped in. This helps you to maintain and continue to build new muscle. Too often, people who take out the offending foods will free up many calories in their diet. If you don’t replace them with good foods you’ll likely wind up not supporting your muscle growth and be skinny without enough muscle mass. Finally, where the etching in of those abs can happen, supplementation. Use high quality supplements to fine tune your efforts and really take your results to the next level. Simply meaning that the best weight loss diet or the best diet for abs for example is the one that you can adhere to the best. However, weight loss is one thing and fat loss is a whole other variable which is MUCH more important when it comes to improving your physique. Before you read any further, ask yourself: What are the last three "bad" things that you ate? When was the last time you tried a "diet"? Why did it fall apart? These problems will come up again if you don't fix them; most hurdles in fitness are behavioral problems that need to be altered. Your last diet most likely fell apart at one of three stages of eating: buying the groceries, preparing your meals, and eating your meals. Here's how to fix those habits and start with good ones. Remember how grandma made a big pot of chicken soup on Sundays so you could eat leftovers throughout the week? She was on to something. Prepare your meals for the week ahead, and get in the routine. It won't feel like "dieting," and it'll save you the effort of thinking about what the hell you're going to eat every day. Calories can sneak up on you with portions that are larger than you think. Use the nutrition facts to your advantage so you know how many macronutrients—carbs, fats, and proteins—go into your body. That's not to say you should count calories—but you should balance out your consumption to make you get enough protein (for building muscle) and fats and carbs (for energy).

Seeing more hair in your brush than usual? You're not alone. An estimated 80 million Americans experience male- or female-pattern hair loss as they age. And in other parts of the world the statistic doesn’t change much! Hair loss is a sensitive subject, one that raises many concerns and results in different treatments, often very expensive, and extreme measures. Dealing with this problem can be stressful, but there is hope! Research shows that it's possible to thicken your hair back up, through dietary changes and a balanced diet. Several scientists agree that a healthy diet, with the right mix of protein, iron, and other nutrients can help improve the health, look, and feel of your hair, delivering all the nutrients it needs to stay healthy and strong. In fact, your hair needs the same well-rounded diet that provides all the recommended vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients needed for good health in the rest of your body. Take protein, for example. A strand of hair is composed of mostly protein, which means your hair needs protein to grow. "Hair and nails are both protein fibers," says dermatologist Paradi Mirmirani, MD, of the Permanente Medical Group in Vallejo, in California. At any given time, about 90% of your hair is in the growing phase. For each individual hair, this growing phase lasts 2 to 3 years. At the end of that time, hairs enter a resting phase that lasts about 3 months before they are shed and replaced by new hair. If you don't get enough protein in your diet, a disproportionate number of hairs may go into the resting phase. A typical scalp has about 120,000-150,000 strands of hair, and sheds about 50 to 100 strands of them each day. Most people don't even notice that small amount. But if an unusually large number of hairs enter the resting phase at the same time, hair loss starts to become noticeable. If not getting enough protein is the reason, you can fix that through your diet. But protein isn't the only nutrient needed to maintain healthy hair. You also need other elements, such as iron, Vitamin D, Vitamin E and trace minerals such as selenium, copper, and magnesium to help keep your hair in good shape. "These nutrients are all involved in the production of the various proteins that make up your hair," says Christine Gerbstadt, MD, RD, spokeswoman for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Not getting enough iron can also cause hair loss. "The best source of iron in your diet is lean meat and fish” Gerbstadt says, while good vegetarian sources of iron include cereals, soybeans, pumpkin seeds, white beans, lentils, and spinach. Talk with your doctor about your diet and ask for an iron test so he can check on whether you should consider taking an iron supplement. Though the evidence still isn't clear, some studies suggest that vitamin D may play a role in the hair cycle. 15 minutes of sun exposure a day should be enough for your daily D vitamin requirement, as your skin produces this vitamin when in contact with sunlight. Egg yolks and mushrooms are also good sources of this vitamin. Remember also the importance of Biotin. I'm 63 years old and have lifted weights on and off through the years. Lately I've become more conscious about my diet and nutrition. I've discovered there are a lot of products, plans, and workouts out there which are confusing to say the least.  What kind of diet should I do to maximize my progress? I'm trying to eat more protein and less carbs, but I still seem to gain weight in the abdominal and waist area (the curse of being an endomorphic). Any advice would be helpful.  Thanks!  Norman Increasing your protein intake and lowering your carbohydrate intake is generally a step in the right direction. This is a good fat loss diet for men who have a lot of belly fat. Generally overweight men have a low tolerance for absorbing high amounts of carbohydrates. But you don’t have to avoid carbs entirely. You can still eat complex carbohydrates and burn bodyfat, as long as you eat your carbs at the right times. Right after exercise when your muscle glycogen levels are depleted your body can absorb and utilize carbohydrates for recovery and growth, rather than storing them as excess bodyfat. So make sure to save your high carb meals for post workout. Either after you have done a cardio workout, weight training workout, or combination of both. For the rest of the day keep your carbohydrate intake low and focus primarily on lean protein, green vegetables, and healthy fats. This will keep your insulin and blood sugar levels stable and help to optimize fat loss.
