Interview of Fashion Designer - fashion designer course - Interview in English
Please watch: "Why do you want to leave your current job - Medical Representative Interview - MR job Interview" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHT7or7iEYg --~-- In fashion designer interview your outfit should be thoughtful, neat, reflect your personal style and it should tell me that you have an elevated taste level irrespective of what label you are wearing. The creative industries are famously a hotbed of emotion, tight deadlines and strong personalities so the interviewer will want to know how you would react in a high stress situation When in the interview take your lead from the interviewer’s body language as much as what they ask you. Do lots of research on the people you're scheduled to meet with, the company culture, go through their social media and look at photos of the team from the office, events, etc If your style is more vintage, stick with that. If you make your own clothes, choose a piece you made yourself

Top 14 Fashion Designer Interview Questions and Answers
Fashion designers create original clothing, accessories, and footwear. They sketch designs, select fabrics and patterns, and give instructions on how to make the products they designed. Duties Fashion designers typically do the following: Study fashion trends and anticipate designs that will appeal to consumers Decide on a theme for a collection Use computer-aided design programs (CAD) to create designs Visit manufacturers or trade shows to get fabric samples Select fabrics, embellishments, colors, or style for each garment or accessory Work with other designers or team members to create a prototype design Present design ideas to the creative director or showcase them in fashion or trade shows Market designs to clothing retailers or directly to consumers Oversee the final production of their designs Larger apparel companies typically employ a team of designers headed by a creative designer. Some fashion designers specialize in clothing, footwear, or accessory design, but others create designs in all three fashion categories. For some fashion designers, the first step in creating a new design is researching current fashion and making predictions of future trends, using trend reports published by fashion industry trade groups. Other fashion designers create collections from inspirations they get from their regular surroundings, from the cultures they have experienced and places they have visited, or from various art media that inspire them. After they have an initial idea, fashion designers try out various fabrics and produce a prototype, often with less expensive material than will be used in the final product. They work with models to see how the design will look and adjust the designs as needed. Although most designers first sketch their designs by hand, many now also sketch their ideas digitally with computer-aided design (CAD) programs. CAD allows designers to see their work on virtual models. They can try out different colors, design, and shapes while making adjustments more easily than they can when working with real fabric on real people. The designers produce samples with the actual materials that will be used in manufacturing. Samples that get good responses from editors or trade and fashion shows are then manufactured and sold to consumers. Although the design process may vary by specialty, in general it takes 6 months from initial design concept to final production, when either the spring or fall collection is released. Some companies may release new designs as frequently as every month, in addition to releases during the spring and fall. The Internet and e-commerce allow fashion designers to offer their products outside of the traditional brick-and-mortar stores. Instead they can ship directly to the consumer, without having to invest in a physical shop to showcase their products lines. The following are examples of types of fashion designers: Clothing designers create and help produce men's, women's, and children's apparel, including casual wear, suits, sportswear, evening wear, outerwear, maternity, and intimate apparel. Footwear designers create and help produce different styles of shoes and boots. As new materials become available, such as lightweight synthetic materials used in shoe soles, footwear designers produce new designs that combine comfort, form, and function. Accessory designers design and produce items such as handbags, suitcases, belts, scarves, hats, hosiery, and eyewear. Costume designers design costumes for the performing arts and for motion picture and television productions. They research the styles worn during the period in which the performance takes place, or they work with directors to select and create appropriate attire. They also must stay within the costume budget for the particular production.

Ritu Beri Fashion Designer | 7 Rules for Success [Interview]
Ritu Beri is one of the TOP Bollywood fashion designers in India. Ritu Beri has accomplished what most designers dream of and we bring you her: 7 Rules to Success for Fashion Designers: #1 Take Tough Challenges #2 Be Persistent #3 Compete with yourself, do your best work #4 Be Scared of being #1 #5 Break Rules: Set your own trends #6 Find Inspiration everywhere #7 Discover What Fires You Transcript: 00:11 So Ritu Beri used to, and I love doing it, even today, I used to take the toughest challenge and I'd say, okay, now I'm going to do a fashion show. When I launched myself as a designer, designers used to do a double designers shows in the sense that would be two designers would be presenting, you know, in a banquet hall, and it was all very organized. So I decided that I'm going to launch myself as a designer and I'm going to not do it with anybody else. I'm going to do a solo show. So all the headaches were on me and then I have challenged myself and I said, I'm not going to do it in a banquet hall. I'm going to do it at the Moody Gardens. Because as a kid I used to walk at the Moody Gardens and this beautiful monument. And I used to always go there and be mesmerized. 00:56 So I decided this is going to be the venue of my shoe. And to add to that, I say, I'm not going to use recorded music. I'm going to get real musicians. Because what I named my collection was a retrospective of the Indian fashion industry, so I went through ancient India, medieval India to modern India, and I went and approach to start, um, to the ECON. Soccer was in hurry, preset you. I got all of them to agree to do the music life for me. And then I was a little designer brand new out of the fashion institution, not knowing what I was doing, but I was presenting my collection at the garden. So I went through the necessary permissions. But the system is duff. So, um, apparently ludy gardens comes under many, many different corporations, so it became a very political event and I had to get permissions and licenses, which apparently I was not aware of. 01:57 I got a few thinking that that was all that I needed. So it became a huge challenge and a huge, um, the press went mad, especially Indian Express. They had me on the cover of every new, every newspaper for the next five days, which was super fun. At one level I had, I had no budgets to pay for publicity. So then I was on the front page and everybody was saying, who is this with dewberry, you know, we've never heard of barry and I became a household name with my very first show. So I really don't take any, any challenge as a problem. It's, there's no such thing as an impossible situation. And I think it's fun to experiment. It's fun to, you know, pave your own path and do something new. Or 02:47 when I was 02:47 in design school lives to go to the library and all I was looking for because I used to enjoy embroideries and I was inspired by embroideries. All I looked for books and Roswell, Assad and weren't many books, but you know, they used to have these uh, design magazines and they'd be a mention of embroidery by Francois lasage. So I've, I've went to London and I looked for books in libraries, but there was very little that I really found, and this was this strange, uh, but I think it was destined. I went to Paris, I think this was [inaudible] 93 or 92. And I was sitting with a very, very important person from Cartier in Paris and she said, is there anybody in the fashion business that you would like to meet? And the only name that completely lit up. And she says, she laughed at me and she said, you are you asking for the moon 03:42 He meets nobody. But, uh, she said, I'll give you his phone number and if you get somewhere, it's completely all luck. All I did for the next four days in Paris was go to a booth, make a goal to a for go have a coffee, go back to the booth. I did this. I think I must have made about 30 calls to him. And, uh, I didn't speak French and the secretary would pick up and she would just speak in French. I had no way to get to him. Finally, I tried really hard and I said to you, would you, do you know somebody who speaks English in the office? 05:04 So all these number ones that everybody was trying to say, I was the first here and number one here. And I like to, um, my competition is only with myself and I, I really mean that because since I began it, Dilla was in junior school, it was about my report card and I had to be the first in class, but when I hit senior school it all changed for me because, um, I was lost and I think I started getting creative and creative people are a bit mad and they don't see everything so rationally. On September 10, the man with the trademark ponytail and sunglasses will celebrate his 85th birthday - it’s believed. From dawn to late morning, Karl Lagerfeld designs for Chanel, Fendi and his own signature brand - a combined workload of up to 15 collections a year. Karl Lagerfeld recounts his beginnings in the industry, as well as his upper class background and childhood in Schleswig-Holstein. Alice + Olivia fashion designer Stacey Bendet interview
Find out how this former website designer started an $85 Million/year Fashion Empire. Stacey Bendet founded the Alice + Olivia (Alice and Olivia) clothing company in 2002. It all started with a pair of pants... While walking by a fabric store in NYC, Stacy saw a wild & funky striped upholstery fabric. She purchased a few yards of the material. At the advice of a friend, she sought out a pattern maker/seamstress and commissioned a pair of pants that were the same dimensions as her favorite pair of jeans. The result was a hip and unique pair of pants that garnered attention every time she wore them. "Everywhere I went people would stop me and say "Where'd you get those pants?"," she says. She started making them for her friends and sold to her first store after the boutique owner saw her and approached her in public and inquired about them. That was only the beginning of Alice and Olivia, now in addition to the pants, there are Alice + Olivia dresses, shoes, accessories, and even an Alice Olivia children's line. In addition to the 800+ specialty stores selling the clothing, there are 8 Alice + Olivia Boutique stores with multiple locations in New York, California, and Connecticut.
