Heather: Sure. Roger: Awesome. And do you have a bill I could borrow, also? Heather: I do. Roger: Nice. Oh, I'm going shopping. Heather: You better give it back. Roger: Here we go. This is very, very cool. I'm going to count to three, and on three the magic's going to happen, okay? Heather: Alright. Roger: Count with me, okay. One... Heather: One. Roger: Two. Heather: Two. Roger: Three. Heather: Three. Roger: Isn't it great? Actually, it's right over here. Isn't that great, though? But, seriously, the real magic happens when you go one, two... Heather: Two. Roger: Three. Heather: Three. Roger: Just like that. You know where the bill went though, right? Heather: No. Roger: It went straight to my bank account. Heather: Better not. Roger: Thanks. Heather: Thanks. Roger: Here's the explanation for the pencil and bill vanish. You can actually use a pen or you can use a piece of paper. Anything that actually fits in your hand will work for this. I like to use bills because they're all over the place. Take the bill, you borrow the bill, and you fold it into a little packet. You're going to put that into your left hand. With your right hand you're going to tap the pencil and have the audience count with you. It's best to have the audience on your left for this as you'll see in a moment. Basically, they're going to count with you as you go one, two, three. By the way, you're going to tell them that something magical's going to happen on three. Don't tell them what, just one, two, three. On three you're going to put the pencil right behind your ear. There's a very old principle in magic called misdirection. As they look at the pencil in your ear you're going to point to the pencil and you're going to say that, "I got you." As you take the pencil off you're going to put the bill that's in your left hand in your back pocket at that moment. So now, your hand comes back out, the bill's no longer there, and you say, "The real magic's going to happen now on the count of three." One, two, three, and the bill vanishes. And that's the explanation for the pencil and bill vanish.

How A Pencil Is Made - How To Please Subscribe My Another Exciting YouTube Channel(Brain Teasers):- https://bit.ly/2zDc1Xn At the Pencil Factory a “Groover machine” cuts grooves into the slats to accept the writing core (or “lead”). Writing cores – made from a mixture of graphite and clay – are placed into the grooves. Coloring pencils may use wax-based cores while many other formulations are used in cosmetic pencils. 12 Steps to Pencil Perfection............ STEP 1 Chunks of graphite (a soft, dark mineral) and clay are placed inside a huge rotating drum. Large rocks inside the drum crush the graphite and clay into a fine powder. Then water is added, and the mixture is blended in the drum for up to three days. STEP 2 A machine squeezes all the water out of the mixture leaving behind a grey sludge. Here, a worker puts the sludge in a cabinet where it air dries and hardens for four days. STEP 3 Huge wheels grind the dried sludge into another fine powder, and water is blended in again to make a soft paste. STEP 4 The paste is pushed through a metal tube and comes out in the shape of thin rods. The rods are cut into pencil-length pieces, called leads, and sent along a conveyor belt to dry. STEP 5 After drying, the pencil leads are put into an oven heated to 1,800 degrees F. The intense heat makes the leads smooth and hard, which makes for good writing points. STEP 6 In another part of the factory, the wood is prepared. Machines cut blocks of Incense Cedar Wood, a renewable resource, into wide slats. Eight shallow grooves are sawed lengthwise into each slat. STEP 7 A thin coat of glue is applied to the slats, and one pencil lead is placed into each of the eight grooves. Within seconds, another wide grooved slat is glued on top, sandwiching the leads. STEP 8 When the glue dries, the slats are fed through a cutting machine. Fast revolving steel blades trim the wood into round or hexagonal shapes, one side at a time. STEP 9 The same machine cuts apart each slat into eight separate pencils. STEP 10 The pencils are sanded, and each one receives from five to eight coats of paint. STEP 11 A heated metal stamp presses the name of the company and a number - such as a number 2 - on the pencil in foil or paint. The number indicates how hard the pencil lead is. STEP 12 A metal band, called a ferrule, is wrapped tightly around one end of the pencil. It holds the eraser, which is being added here. The pencils are then ready to be sharpened, packaged, and used.

Roger "Rogue" Quan: Hey, Heather, I see you're holding a pencil. Can I borrow that for a second? Thank you. This is not a trick question, but do you see the number two logo on the pencil? Is that on both sides, you think, or is that only on one side? Heather: I think it's on both sides. Roger: Actually, it's only on one side. But, being a magician, watch, I can transfer the ink right onto the back, so now it's on both sides. Heather: Woah. Roger: Isn't that cool? Heather: Yeah. Roger: If I shake this like that I could make the ink totally disappear from both sides. Of course, I've got to bring that back. Heather: Wow. Roger: Both sides. But, of course, at the very end I have to erase that ink so it's back to normal... Heather: Woah. Roger: Just for you. Heather: That's crazy. Roger: Hey guys, this is the number two pencil trick. This is actually one of my pet effects. There are actually marketed versions of this trick on the market using gems or colored circles. I took the liberty of using number two pencils because these actually are very common in the office and around, you know, wherever, you know, there are office supplies. Basically, you take your number two pencil. The logo's actually on one side. To show it on both sides you're going to do something that's called a paddle move which is a very old move in magic. Basically, as you come up you're going to give the pencil a half twist, a half twist just like that. Basically, the larger motion's going to cover the smaller motion. So like I said, as you come up you give it a twist so it looks like the number two is on both sides of the pencil. So in real time it looks pretty convincing. You don't want to do this too many times, otherwise they might catch on, but just once or twice. It looks like the number two logo is on both sides. To show that the number two pencil disappears, all I'm going to do is just twist it once. As I'm shaking I twist it once, and now it's not there any more because there is no number two logo on the back. To show that's blank on both sides, again I do the paddle move. To make it come back, twist it one more time while I'm shaking the pencil and it comes back. Show it again it's on both sides. And at the end just rub it off. Pretend to rub off the back. And now it's back to normal. And that's the explanation for the number two pencil trick.

Erasers lift our mistakes right off the page, but it's not magic - it's the microscopic physics of stickiness. Learn more at HowStuffWorks.com: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/everyday-tech/erasers-erase.htm Share on Facebook: Share on Twitter: Subscribe: http://goo.gl/ZYI7Gt Visit our site: http://www.brainstuffshow.com I’m Cristen, this is BrainStuff, and there are plenty of things I’d like to erase: The box of pizza rolls I ate yesterday; ever watching “Sex & the City Part 2”; and every single Willy Wonka meme. Unfortunately, a lot of marks in this world are permanent. But not so with pencil marks. Yes, the humble pencil – or not-so-humble, as the case may be. Pencil lead isn’t actually lead at all. (So no, you can’t get lead poisoning from a pencil wound.) It’s made from graphite, which is a soft mineral made up of flaky, atom-thin layers of crystalline carbon. Ever since the 1790s, that graphite has been mixed with clay to achieve different pencil lead hardnesses. As you write or draw, flakes of this clay-and-graphite mix cling to the fibers that make up your piece of paper. The fibers have a huge surface area that catches lots of flakes, and the flakes will gladly stick around for decades if they’re not disturbed. But erasers can lift those flakes right off the page by virtue of being stickier than the paper fibers. It’s as simple as that. Since the flakes are just hanging onto the paper (not unlike thousands of tiny clay-and-graphite kittens, just hangin’ in there), anything stickier than paper can lift them off. In fact, the earliest erasers, going back to at least the 1500s, were just bread. Slightly moistened and balled up bread. By the 1800s, people were using erasers made from natural rubber, which is harvested in the form of latex from certain trees, which excrete it to discourage plant-eating insects. (The name “rubber” actually comes from one chemist’s observation, circa 1770, that this tree latex stuff is great when used to “rub out” pencil marks. Rub-er.) But because natural latex rubber can be expensive and some people are allergic to it, modern erasers are almost always made from synthetic, petroleum-based rubber like polyvinyl chloride. Your standard pink eraser has bits of pumice added to make it more abrasive, which is a cheap way to help dislodge flakes of graphite from paper fibers. Fancier erasers are made from super-sticky soft vinyl that absorbs the graphite and is more gentle on your paper. And magic erasers work on a similar principle: Instead of being literally sticky, they contain rigid microstructures that trap dirt. But if you’re ever without one, give your standard pink eraser a try – they’re effective on way more than just pencil marks. Learn more about the iPad Pro in our full review at Pocketnow: /2015/11/25/ipad-pro-review (Full description below) When we reviewed the iPad Pro last month, we did so in a vacuum. Apple's supersized tablet had beaten its accessories to our front door, so we reviewed only the device itself, reasoning that there were some people who would buy it for its built-in attributes alone. While it's a fine product, with a huge screen that makes it especially good for media consumption, the iPad Pro still feels hollow without something more. Fortunately for iPad Pro buyers, "something more" is just $99 away in the form of the Apple Pencil. The supersized stylus packs a built-in battery and Bluetooth radio into its glossy white fuselage, and it unlocks a whole new dimension of the tablet experience. The Apple Pencil is to the iPad Pro what 3D Touch is to the iPhone 6S: a feature that's easy to dismiss as a mere gimmick – until you pick it up and use it. Join us as we take you from unboxing to note-taking to our best approximation of artwork in the above video, a guided tour of the Apple Pencil on the iPad Pro! Should you use a Mr. Clean Eraser on your smart phone? The short answer is NO! The longer answer is going to be a soft no. After scrubbing my iPhone with the Magic Eraser, you can definitely see which side was scrubbed with a Magic Eraser but how much effort do you think it took to damage my iPhone with the Magic Eraser? Now if you search how to remove scratches on your iPhone, there’s a good chance you’ll come across lots of articles saying NOT to use a Mr. Clean Magic eraser and the occasional one that says it’s ok. Now all the articles that say NOT to say it will strip the oleophobic coating off. But none of those articles actually show proof of that. It’s pretty awesome that you can rank well in internet searches with articles that aren’t based on any sort of evidence. That’s the internet for you! Support me by getting your tech through my Amazon link! As long as you use my link, you'll be helping me out make more videos! Get the Apple on Amazon! Amazon US: https://mreh.ca/2LDE3Db Amazon CA: https://mreh.ca/2LBDKc2 Amazon UK: https://mreh.ca/2JHBdQ1 Amazon DE: https://mreh.ca/2HBTmK6 I’m in the process of reviewing liquid screen protectors so I needed to figure out a way to reduce or strip oleophobic coating on my iPhone X to see if liquid screen protectors are worth the hype. I figure some of you would actually like to see what a Magic Eraser actually does to the iPhone so I figure I make a short video about it. So what did I do? The iPhone X I decided to use was the one with a dead screen due to the Utomic Edge. Check out that review for the full story. The iPhone X I broke was a fresh one so the coating on the screen was still quite strong. I did a couple of tests to see how the coating was and you can definitely tell that the water was bunching up together because of the coating. The drop on my counter top doesn’t have the same bunching effect. I then covered 1/2 the iPhone with a layer of painters tape and then duck tape. I went with painters tape because it was the least sticky tape in my house. I then proceeded to scrub the exposed side with a magic eraser for about 2 minutes. After the scrub, I took splashed some water on it to see what would happen and I initially didn’t see a big difference. I was actually expecting to see a night and day difference. So I took it one step slower and went with a smaller amount of water and as you can tell, the one side that was covered in tape works much better than the Magic Erasere’d side. Now I decided to keep assaulting the exposed side of the iPhone to see if I could remove even more of the Oleophobic coating. This resulted in even more scrubbing with the Magic Eraser. The bout of scrubbing was followed by some motorized scrubbing with my Black and Decker car polisher. So after that, I did another round of Magic Eraser scrubbing and then the water droplet test. It didn’t seem any worse so I’m guessing the first two-minute round with the magic eraser removed most of the oleophobic coating. Now I did say that the long answer was a soft no at the beginning. When I tried to do a comparison of greasy fingerprints, I couldn’t see if one side was better or not. The Oleophobic coating should reduce the amount of smudging but my face grease test didn’t result in anything really noticeable. On a day to day basis, I doubt anybody would be able to concretely say “O yeah, that spot is missing some of the oleophobic coating”. Now when it comes to scratches, I took the file on my leather man and gently grazed part of my iPhone screen. I was really hoping that I was just scrapping the coating layer of the screen but even that light graze damaged the actual glass of the iPhone since the Magic Eraser did absolutely nothing to minimize the scratches. So the lesson from all of this is DON”T USE A MAGIC ERASER ON YOUR iPHONE IF YOU VALUE Whatever is left of your oleophobic coating. If you’re wondering if I was able to re-add the oleophobic coating to this iPhone, well, you’re going to have to watch that video because at the time of this video, I haven’t finished it yet. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe to stay in the loop!
