Analytical Functions in oracle explained with real examples

25:24
This video explains analytical functions and how they are implemented in real projects. Analytical functions are somewhat similar to aggregate functions, but they offer much more. Why use analytical function ? They allow you to write fast and concise queries which otherwise will involve self join and long processing times They allow you to perform aggregate functions independently on sets of partitions. You can access values from previous rows in current row and you can restrict the window on which you want to apply this analytical function. I have given additional practice exercises along with the dataset so that you can comfortably work with analytical functions. You can find the sample problems along with dataset in the below link. http://www.internshipsfromhome.com/oracle-analytical-functions-ddl-and-dml/

Oracle SQL Tutorial 1 - Intro to Oracle Database

10:18
As illustrated in the video, Oracle Database is a program designed to hold lots of information, or data. There are all kinds of different databases and they all have their uses. Some of the most common ones are MySQL, SQL Server, Sybase, and MongoDB. All of these have different uses. The differences will be easier to understand after you learn more about each kind of database. We did not discuss it much in the video, but if you are wondering what “SQL” means in the title, it stands for structured query language. Structured query language is a human readable computer language that is used to tell databases to do things. We will discuss SQL and Oracle SQL Developer more in future videos. Databases are better than spreadsheets because they allow multiple users at one time, different levels of access given to users, recovery options and transactions, and it is more protected from hacking and malicious destruction. Programming languages often have very useful functions or methods that can be used to communicate to a database and therefore they are a naturally good option for the back end of programs. This course will go over all of the major parts of database programming using Oracle SQL. We will be using Oracle 11g, but these videos should still work with other versions, including the most recent 12c. Q and A ~~~~~~ How much does Oracle cost? The full enterprise edition costs thousands. They have other versions for less and they even have a FREE VERSION! This is known as the XE version (eXpress Edition). That is the one we will be using. How long does it take to learn SQL? You can learn all of the basics and be an efficient beginner database developer in only about a month of practice. To become an intermediate it can take anywhere from an additional 3 - 6 months with a only a few hours of studying and practicing each day. How can I learn SQL faster? Take notes and actually mess around with making your own database. Watch these videos until you understand the concepts within them, read articles and books that teach in more depth. Let Oracle Do the Heavy Lifting: using compile-time warnings

13:35
The PL/SQL compiler does more than make sure your code can execute. If you turn on compile-time warnings, the compiler will also give you recommendations on improving performance, taking full advantage of PL/SQL features, improving overall code quality. Examples: the compiler can tell you under a number of circumstances that a runtime error will occur; that there are unreachable chunks of code, and more. ======================================== Practically Perfect PL/SQL with Steven Feuerstein Copyright © 2015 Oracle and/or its affiliates. Oracle SOA 12c Examples - "CalculatorDemo"

40:53
CalculatorDemo - Oracle SOA 12c Examples ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Steps: ======= 01. Open JDeveloper 12c 02. Create SOA Application called "SOA_POCs" and then create an SOA Project called "Calculator_Demo" 03. Create Custom XSD with required fields and valid filename (Naming convention). XSD got ready. 04. Create Synchronous BPEL 2.0 Process. In 12c by default BPEL 2.0 selected. 05. Goto Composite.xml and drag n drop BPEL component on Components canvas. 06. On 'Create BPEL Process' wizard, select Template as 'Synchronous BPEL Process' and also select the Request & Response for input & output. 07. Double click on BPEL process and it redirected to BPEL process editor. 08. Drag n Drop 'If' condition in between 'receiveInput' & 'replyOutput' activity. 09. Always Select Expression language as XPATH 1.0 in BPEL 2.0 10. Completed the Flow, now compile the code, once successfully completed then deploy the code on SOA Application Server. 11. I have already started the local Admin & Application server. 12. Deploy the code. In JDeveloper, I have already configured the server named "conn_weblogic12c" 13. Deployed the code on SOA Application Server. 14. Go to EM Console (http://localhost:7001/em) and check the code got deployed successfully or not. 15. Test the composite in SOAP UI Tool. 16. Open SOAP UI Tool or you can test through em console but that is not good practices. 17. Copy Endpoint URI with '?WSDL' and import in SOAP UI Tool. Before this, first, check it in the browser. Perfectly working. 18. All conditions are successfully executing. 19. When % (Modulation) as operation name then it throws Business Fault i.e., "Please enter correct operation name and try agin..". Oracle SQL MEDIAN Function Examples and Guide

03:28
https://www.databasestar.com/median-mean-mode-in-oracle/ In this video, you’ll learn what the term “median” means, and how to generate an Oracle SQL median value. What is median? It’s the middle value in a list of values, after the values have been sorted in ascending order. It’s kind of like an average, but it’s different, as the average finds the total of the values divided by the number of values and will often not be one of the values in the list. Median will usually be the value in the list that is the middle point. So, how can you calculate the median in Oracle SQL? We use a function called MEDIAN. And in this video, I’ll show you how to use the function and see some examples. For more information on the MEDIAN function, including the SQL used in this video, read the related article here: https://www.databasestar.com/median-mean-mode-in-oracle/

Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) Tutorial - Part 1

06:58
Learn how to create an Entity Relationship Diagram in this tutorial. We provide a basic overview of ERDs and then gives step-by-step training on how to make an ER diagram with correct cardinality. Entity Relationship Diagrams are comprised of 3 main categories: entities, attributes, and relationships. Entities are objects or concepts that are associated with important data—like a customer, order, or product. Attributes represent properties or traits of an entity, such as a customer’s phone number or home address. Relationships demonstrate the link between entities. Another main aspect of of ERD's is cardinality, which further defines the relationship between entities in a numerical way. Certain symbols signify the minimum and maximum relationship between different entities. Coding With Python :: Learn API Basics to Grab Data with Python

19:23
Coding With Python :: Learn API Basics to Grab Data with Python This is a basic introduction to using APIs. APIs are the "glue" that keep a lot of web applications running and thriving. Without APIs much of the internet services you love might not even exist! APIs are easy way to connect with other websites & web services to use their data to make your site or application even better. This simple tutorial gives you the basics of how you can access this data and use it. If you want to know if a website has an api, just search "Facebook API" or "Twitter API" or "Foursquare API" on google. Some APIs are easy to use (like Locu's API which we use in this video) some are more complicated (Facebook's API is more complicated than Locu's). More about APIs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Api Code from the video: http://pastebin.com/tFeFvbXp If you want to learn more about using APIs with Django, learn at http://CodingForEntrepreneurs.com for just $25/month. We apply what we learn here into a Django web application in the GeoLocator project. The Try Django Tutorial Series is designed to help you get used to using Django in building a basic landing page (also known as splash page or MVP landing page) so you can collect data from potential users. Collecting this data will prove as verification (or validation) that your project is worth building. Furthermore, we also show you how to implement a Paypal Button so you can also accept payments. Django is awesome and very simple to get started. Step-by-step tutorials are to help you understand the workflow, get you started doing something real, then it is our goal to have you asking questions... "Why did I do X?" or "How would I do Y?" These are questions you wouldn't know to ask otherwise. Questions, after all, lead to answers. oracle pl sql packages examples

08:00
Introducing to PL/SQL Package PL/SQL package is a group of related functions, procedures, types, cursors, etc. PL/SQL package is like a library once written stored in the Oracle database and can be used by many applications. A PL/SQL package has two parts: package specification and package body. A package specification is the public interface of your applications. The public means the stored function, procedures, types, etc., are accessible from other applications. A package body contains the code that implements the package specification. PL/SQL Package PL/SQL Package Creating PL/SQL Package Specification The package specification is required when you create a new package. The package specification lists all the objects which are publicly accessible from other applications. The package specification also provides the information that developers need to know in order to use the interface. In short, package specification is the package’s API. If the package specification does not contain any stored functions, procedures and no private code is needed, you don’t need to have a package body. These packages may contain only type definition and variables declaration. Those variables are known as package data. The scope of package data is global to applications. It is recommended that you should hide as much as package data as possible and use get and set functions to read and write that data. By doing this, you can prevent your package data changed unintentionally. It is important to note that you must compile the package specification before package body.
