01:43
SAN ANTONIO -- Police are investigating after some remains were found near SeaWorld on the Far West Side. Police say maintenance workers discovered what investigators believe are "human skeletal remains" around 3 p.m. in a heavily wooded area along the perimeter of the park. The medical examiner has taken possession of the remains for examination. Information about whether or not there were signs of foul play found at the scene have not been released.

For 450 years, no one knew where the Swedish warship Mars, named for the Roman god of war, sank in the Baltic Sea. The largest vessel of its time went down in a fierce battle in 1564 with more than 800 people aboard. Its discovery in 2011 yielded an astonishingly well-preserved ship, including the seamen who went down with it. ➡ Subscribe: http://bit.ly/NatGeoSubscribe About National Geographic: National Geographic is the world's premium destination for science, exploration, and adventure. THE STORY OF SHARK ROSIE - LEFT TO ROT AT AN ABANDONED WILDLIFE PARK

05:38
The great white shark abandoned at a wildlife park in Victoria Australia. This is the story of Rosie. Transcript: About a month ago I ventured here with with Rob, an amazing Melbourne based urban explorer. Instagram link below. We weren’t sure what we would find and little did we know that the shark in this barn house has captured the hearts and minds of plenty. Show comments screens A lot of you had questions on how this shark came to be left, forgotten, in the dark for years and years. It’s time you found out what happened here. The truth. The truth about a shark called Rosie. Rosie is a 5m long shark who died in a tuna fishing net and is apparantly one the the biggest shark caught in Australia. This happens all too often with sharks in Australia and around the world and are mostly discarded without a thought. An Australian artist saw Rosie in the net, have her a name and due to her size and unscathed body preserved her in chemicals and gave her to Wildlife Wonderland as an exhibition here in Bass Victoria Australia. She still sits here silent, in the dark with her fin above the chemical line slowly deteriorating like everything else around her. Wildlife wonderland closed abruptly because it’s owner didn’t have the licenses or permissions for the animals. They were moved to better places however the shark remains. Apparently 3 years ago Rosie was up for sale however when they tried to love her, the tank buckled and became an environmental and safety risk. It also would have jeapardized Rosie so this is why she remains here to this day. The smell is powerful and strong. It hurts your eyes, ears and lungs to a point you can only stay near for no more than 10 seconds. Vandals and disrespectful explorers have tried to smash their way into the tank, as well as throw old tvs, ironing boards and anything they could find. It’s horrible to see and terrible what happens here. For a lot of kids and keen wildlife enthusiasts Rosie did show the power and size of sharks to many who came here in the past. Her death provided education to many however she should have been moved away from this place years back. I am very grateful I have been able to see her one last time. Thank you for sharing this video and let’s make sure Rosie has a bright future somewhere nicer than this. To anyone thinking of coming here for a look, don’t. The owners are doing what they can do keep this place safe. Respect Rosie and let’s hope the owners handle Rosie respectfully. Get her out of this tin shed and on display somewhere more peaceful. Remains of Argentine submarine found in deep sea - TomoNews

01:33
ARGENTINA — Argentine Naval officials do not have all the answers yet but have begun investigations to pin down what caused the wreck. The ARA San Juan was on its way back from a routine expedition at the southern tip of South America when it reported technical difficulties. It first reported a short circuit caused by water that had leaked through the submarine's snorkel and dripped on the battery. Shortly after, officials lost contact with the submarine. Argentine newspaper, La Nacion, says a special investigation commission put together by the Argentinian Ministry of Defense reported that a second explosion may have occurred triggering issues in the control systems which then led to the vessel sinking and imploding due to high underwater pressure. According to the BBC, the wreckage was found by Ocean Infinity — a seabed exploration company hired by Argentinian officials — in a ravine roughly 900 meters below surface. It was carrying 44 crew members. Family members of the crew are now demanding the government begin efforts to recover the remains of the vessel. 19 Most Famous Shipwrecks

10:36
After a life at sea, where do ships and submarines go when they retire? Why, they haunt still shores or stayed beached on dry land as they slowly rust and erode. Here are some of the most famous shipwrecks where they ended up. Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr 10. Sleeping Bear The shipwrecks found beneath the water’s surface in Sleeping Bear on located near the Lower Peninsula of Lake MIchigan. A famous ship found here was the Francisco Morazan, which sailed off from the city of Chicago back in 1960. There was over 940 tons of cargo when it was met with fog and snow, which proved too much for the ship. In the end, it was abandoned by the next month, which left the ship to just sink and rust into the lake waters since the owners of the ship were never found and there was no one to deal with the removal of it from the water. 9. Landévennec This ship yard is located along the Aulne River in north west France. Most of the ships seen here are military vessels near Pen Forn. The mountains surrounding the waters not only help it the site from being an eyesore, but their presence apparently help keep the water calm, ultimately making for a smoother decomposition of the old ships to disintegrate better. 8. Alexandrovsk-Sakhalinsky On the shores of this Russian town are lines of old submarines that sit decomposing in the water. These abandoned submarines are partially sunk in the water as they just await to rust. No one is sure just how many submarines can be found in these waters, nor is much else known about their condition or purpose. 7. Bikini Atoll Bikini Atoll is known as being a nuclear testing site, and it’s also a location where ships have sunk, creating an old shipyard site for the old sea vessels. The ships were part of atomic tests during the 1940s, one such being the USS Independence. Not only that, but there’s aid to be over 55 gallons of radioactive waste in drums dumped here as well. The USS Saratoga lies here as well, with a lot of the vessels found here having been forgotten about. 6. Sha’b Abu Nuhas In the depths of the Red Sea is a location referred to as the Wrecks of Abu Nuhas. It is the site of at least 7 shipwrecks that lie near the triangle shaped coral reef near the north western part of Shadwan Island. Of the ships were is the SS Carnatic, Olden, Kimon M, and as seen pictured here, The Giannis D. Divers come here all the time to check out the metal ruins of old ships that have met their demise in the open waters. Along with the rusted metal is a diverse amount of wildlife that also makes it a popular diving site. 5. Jervois Basin This body of water is seen an unfit for swimming, but that doesn’t stop people from checking out the wrecks found at the Jervois Basin in South Australia near the upper region of Port Adelaide River. Here you can see the skeletal remains of old ships in the process of ship breaking. It’s not the active ship breaking yard it once ways, and remnants of that part of history can still be seen here. 4. Curtin Artificial Reef It is one of the largest Reef Projects in the world and has been a site of wrecked sea vessels since 1968. Since then there have been over 32 ships, buoys, cars, and other pieces of vehicles and vessels that have been allowed to sink and become part of the reef. This shipwreck in Australia was established by the Underwater Research Group of Queensland and is a project that has attracted much more marine life to the waters. 3. Aral Sea The dry sand pictured here would be the last place you think you’d see so many ships come together as they sit all run down in the sun, and yet the ships on the Aral Sea are some of the most prominent and famous in the world. Located in a basin in the border of the countries of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, the shipwrecks of the Aral Sea have been a strange sight to behold ever since the level of the sea started to rapidly decline by the 1960s. 2. Skeleton Coast If these skull and crossbones gates are anything to go by, it the fact that Skeleton Coast in Namibia are one of the most well known shipwrecks in the world. Skeleton Coast is found along the coast of Namibia along a coast that touches that Atlantic Ocean. Rusted ships have been beached here, the environment rusting and breaking them down to seem like skeletal formations along the beach. Gadani This is one of the top 3 largest ship breaking yards in the world and is still one of the most active. Gadani, located 50 miles northwest of Karachi, Pakistan, is a yard that is the location of 132 ship breaking plots. A few decades ago, it was the largest ship breaking yard in the world, and even now that it has been surpassed on that front, it is still one of the most well known and leads the world in its ship breaking efficiency.

Abandoned Slaughterhouse in the Country with Animal Remains.

This was a fun explore, roaming through an abandoned abattoir, finding dead animals smelling the gross smells that comes with places like these. This place has been abandoned for a while, there's plenty of graffiti, and different parts of the sheds to explore, with guessing what each building was for. Hope you enjoyed watching my explores. Patagotitan In 2012, a farmer came across a stone littered with the remains of all kinds of dinosaurs. Some of the fossilized bones in particular, were determined to belong to a massive herbivore. This new species is arguably the most massive dinosaur ever discovered!! Now known as the Patagotitan mayorum, this titanosaur was 122 feet (37 m) long, nearly 20 feet high (6 m) at the shoulder, and weighed over 70 tons. 9. Megalosaurus The Megalosaurus was found in England in 1676, where a fragmentary bone was discovered in a limestone quarry in Oxfordshire. This find was one of the first dinosaurs ever discovered!! The first scientists to examine the bone thought it might have come from a Roman war elephant, or even from a giant human like those mentioned in the Bible. The fragment was the end of a femur, but because of its shape, it was labeled “Scrotum humanum”. The name stuck until 1827, when it was given its proper name. 8. Tyrannosaurus Rex What listing of huge fossils would be complete without the king of the dinosaurs? It was one of the largest predators ever, with just its skull measuring over five feet long! It’s estimated that T. rex had the greatest bite force in history, at about 8000 pounds of pressure – about the weight of three small cars! Now scientists believe that adult t-rexes could have been covered in feathers. 7. Giganotosaurus Its name is often mispronounced as “giganto-saurus,” a name that would be appropriate for its immense size, but that’s actually the name of another dinosaur. Giganotosaurus’ name is really Greek for “great Southern lizard.” Found in Argentina, this beast lived during the Late Cretaceous period, about 97 million years ago. It was larger than a T-rex, estimated to be about 45 feet long (13.7 m) and tipping the scales at 15 tons. That’s a several tons heavier and five feet longer than T. rex! 6. Archaeopteryx The Archaeopteryx is a transitional species between dinosaurs and birds. It is often considered the first bird. This remarkable creature was first found in southern Germany in 1860. It’s not very large – only about the size of a raven – but the quality that makes it “big” is its plumage. Like birds, the Archaeopteryx had flight feathers, and these have been beautifully preserved in the fossil record. In fact, eleven separate specimens have been discovered, all of them with their feathers clearly shown. 5. Diplodocus First discovered in 1877 in Colorado, Diplodocus was a four-footed, herbivorous giant. It lived in North America during the Jurassic period, about 155 million years ago. A long-necked, long-tailed creature, the Diplodocus measured about 108 feet (33 m) long and weighed about 17.6 tons (10 to 16 metric tons). 4. Mosasaurus Massive monsters weren’t exclusively found on land. These ancient marine reptiles were not dinosaurs and are believed to be one of the most fearsome predators to live in the ocean. The Mosasaurus could reach lengths of up to 56 feet (17 m) and weigh up to 30,000 pounds (13,607 kg). Paleontologists think that Mosasaurus had tail flukes similar to sharks, and like sharks, it probably could cruise along at a pretty fast speed! 3. Iguanodon The Iguanodon, was a four-legged herbivore that lived during the Jurassic period to the Cretaceous. When a fossil was first obtained by an English doctor in 1825, it was just a gigantic tooth that the doctor called “Iguanodon”, meaning “iguana tooth”. Over the years many different dinosaurs were labelled as iguanodons so it got kind of confusing and it was hard to find big skeletons and artists started to create their own beasts based on bits and pieces of information. 2. Hadrosaurus Their name translates to “bulky lizard,” but we know them better as duck-billed dinosaurs. These creatures were the most common dinosaurs, found all across Europe, North America and Asia during the late Cretaceous period about 80 million years ago. Hadrosaurs were herbivores, and they probably lived near water. They ran on two legs and had a stiff tail that helped them balance. 1. Yutyrannus This dinosaur was a distant cousin of the T-Rex and lived in the Cretaceous period. Discovered in northeastern China, these guys were big, scary, and fluffy!! Video: Ten years on, what remains of Somalia's 'Pirateland'?

16:33
Subscribe to France 24 now: http://f24.my/youtubeEN FRANCE 24 live news stream: all the latest news 24/7 http://f24.my/YTliveEN Ten years ago, Somali pirates frequently made headlines for hijacking boats and holding their crews for ransom. The epicentre of the piracy crisis was Somalia's north-western state of Puntland. Local fishermen were angry at trawlers from around the world scouring the plentiful waters of the Horn of Africa. Our reporters returned to Puntland to meet its fishermen and talk to local armed forces who today face a much more dangerous threat: Al Shabaab Islamists. A decade ago, piracy exploded off the coast of Somalia, unleashing a media frenzy that captivated viewers around the world -- playing on distant but exhilarating childhood images of skulls and crossbones, walking the plank and, of course, treasure. Until then, for most people, the notion of pirates was indeed one largely confined to history -- and children’s books. But in 2008, 111 ships were attacked in the Gulf of Aden, which separates Somalia from Yemen and links the Indian Ocean with the Red Sea. Attacks more than doubled in 2009, a year which saw 47 successful hijackings, with a total of 263 crew members held for ransom. A staggering 154 million dollars in ransoms was paid in 2011, before concerted action by commercial ship owners and world powers brought the scourge under control. Perhaps surprisingly, the epicentre of the piracy crisis was one of Somalia’s more internally stable regions - Puntland, which declared autonomy in 1998. One of the triggers was illegal and unregulated fishing. Local fishermen, angry that nothing was being done to confront foreign trawlers, got organised and did the jobs themselves. In holding foreign fishing crews hostage, they stumbled across an easy way to make money and, in effect, take a fat -- albeit highly illegal -- slice of profit from world trade, which until then had largely bypassed Somalia. Tapping into discontent A decade after the pirates hit the big time, our reporters Duncan Woodside and Thaïs Brouck went back to Puntland to find out what life is like there now. The pirates have nearly all been forced into retirement, their loot long since squandered. Nevertheless, our reporters found that illegal, unregulated and underreported fishing remains a big problem, despite a massive international naval presence off the coast of Somalia and the operations of Puntland’s own well-funded coastguards. Meanwhile, the government’s authority is undermined by Al Shabaab ("The Youth" in Arabic), Islamist militants allied with Al-Qaeda, who have found sanctuary in Puntland and have been attempting to tap into discontent, amid pressure from an international military coalition in southern Somalia. To complicate the picture even further, the Islamic State group is rearing its head in the region. ►► On France24.com: The fight for survival in drought-hit Somaliland http://www.france24.com/en/taxonomy/emission/20373 Visit our website: http://www.france24.com Subscribe to our YouTube channel: http://f24.my/youtubeEN Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FRANCE24.English Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/France24_en

10 Biggest Sea Creatures Ever Caught

05:42
You won't believe that fishermen actually caught these gigantic sea monsters! Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg SyFy recently aired the third film in their so-bad-its-good “Sharknado” series, prompting some to wonder if airborne, tornado-based sharks could actually be real. Okay, so no one is really wondering that. Still, though, the ocean continues to represent a great unknown to us, providing home to countless species, many of which remain a mystery to humanity. The more we learn about what lurks deep below the surface, the more we realize still remains uncovered. With two-thirds of the Earth’s surface covered in water, it stands to reason that a great deal of that space remains unexplored. Of course, just because humankind hasn’t covered every iota of ground along the ocean floor, it doesn’t mean that those areas are uninhabited. All we know for sure is that the truly deepest depths of the world’s oceans continue to offer surprises, even as scientific technology becomes increasingly advanced. New species unlike any others known before are routinely discovered, with entirely new and alien biomes in extreme environments that no life had even been thought possible have challenged our very notions of what life is and how it has evolved. Amidst the cold darkness of a low-lying ocean area with depths that no sunlight can penetrate lies an alien world of incredibly rare and mysterious species. While many are simple, harmless omnivores, they share the ocean floor with some pretty unsettling forces. These ocean-based creatures – those that we know about, anyway – change everything we think we know about fish. Each one has at least one predominant feature that stands out as being unlike anything seen before. Think you know sharks? Well, how about one with a saw-like nose or a frilly, eel-like body. Think you’ve seen some big fish? How about a 17-metre long swimmer or a 900-pound squid or even a 5,000-pound behemoth sunfish? Lurking within the ocean are a number of deadly, threatening, vicious creatures that are naturally designed and programmed to hunt and stalk their prey. Thankfully, most of these monsters live at pressures that humans could never survive at – not that they would survive long down there, anyway. In recent years, Hollywood has sparked a fascination with zombies, aliens and other forces that exist beyond the realms of our planet and that are not steeped in reality. Despite that, some of the strangest and most terrifying creatures in the universe lie beneath the surface of bodies of water with which we are, at least partially, familiar. As we sit on a beach staring out at the natural beauty of the Pacific Ocean, we remain blissfully oblivious to all that lurks within. This list seeks to open the door to an entire world of deep sea activity, featuring a cast of creepy and spooky characters that few even know exist. These 10 fish, some of whom may seem to be borne out of your darkest nightmares, are all very real and may give you second thoughts the next time you foray into the ocean. And these are just the ones we know about… Check out these other awesome videos! 10 Shockingly Large Creatures That Actually Exist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9odlL5Ti3dc 10 Things That Will Happen When Humans Go Extinct https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ml_awEqbEE Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheRichest.org Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheRichest_Com Instagram: http://instagram.com/therichest For more videos and articles visit: http://www.therichest.com/

A German WWI U Boat Was Found Off Belgium’s Coast With The Creepy Remains Of 23 Crew Still On Board

07:25
Story Source : https://goo.gl/h4PJdH German submarines, or U-boats, waged a highly destructive campaign against British shipping. One of the German aims was to prevent food imports and raw materials for the war effort from reaching Britain. In the course of the war, U-boats sank around 5,000 British vessels but lost 178 boats and some 5,000 submariners in the process. Now, 100 years after it sank, one of those U-boats has been found off the Belgian coast. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ join us in our second channel..let's help animals together https://goo.gl/fauhmJ OUR Website : http://www.dduknow.com Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/know.of Twitter : https://twitter.com/Did_You_Know_of Instagram : https://www.instagram.com/dduknow -----Audio by Scott Leffler: scottleffler.com For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] #did_you_know #trending_stories #viral_stories #inspiring #trending #buzz

10 Animals That Were Recently Discovered

12:03
► Subscribe: https://goo.gl/vHN6qB For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] The animal kingdom is diverse and fascinating, and there are many different versions of the same species all over the planet. In some areas, such as the deepest reaches of the Amazon Rainforest, we know very little about all the creatures that exist there. And while us humans tend to think of ourselves as the masters of our world, it cannot be denied that there are many weird and wonderful things on Planet Earth of which we are simply unaware. That’s why everyone becomes so excited when we discover a new plant or animal species. Recently scientists have discovered new species of wasp, shark, ape, and even new animals descended from Dinosaurs! With that in mind, here are 10 amazing animals that have only been discovered in recent years. Squalus Clarkae Also known as the “Genie’s Dogfish,” this tiny member of the shark family, specifically the dogfish shark, grows just 20 to 28 inches long. Found in the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico, this dainty predator has huge, anime-like eyes which are perfect for seeing in the deep, dark waters. Calistoga Crassicaudata Despite being just 9.8 millimeters long, this species of parasitic wasp is native to the Amazon, and is one of the most nightmarish creatures on this list. Its stinger is about half the length of its tiny body and is also an “ovipositor.” This means that that stinger also deposits eggs, along with a paralytic toxin into the wound it creates. Caelestiventus Hanseni This entry has been, thankfully, discovered post extinction. If you think we’re cruel for saying this, just wait until you hear about C.Hanseni! C. Hanseni was, in fact, a breed of Giant Pterosaur which sported no less than 110 teeth and 4 seriously wicked fangs. The scientists responsible for discovering it estimate that it may have had a wingspan of around 4.9 feet and fangs 2.5 centimeters in length. Mansourasaurus shahinae The second ancient discovery on our list is less carnivorous, but no less terrifying for its vegetarian nature. The Mansourasaurus was found in Egypt by archeologists in late 2017. This sauropod was long-necked, long-tailed, and the size of a modern-day bus! What makes this discovery so exciting? Dendrocerus Scutellaris Another member of the wasp family which has been discovered in recent years, D.Scutellaris is also a parasitic wasp that seems to have cut its way straight from a scary movie. Like it’s cousin C.Crassicaudata, this wasp lays eggs inside of a host. The larvae then hatch and, well you get the rest. Despite this, D.Scutellaris lacks the strong, pointy jaws that most endoparasitoid wasps use to chew their way free. Tardigrades Lovers of weird and wonderful animals will already know about the famously sturdy Tardigrade or as its sometimes called “water bear”. This tiny microscopic creature can survive in extreme cold down to negative -328 degrees Fahrenheit and extreme heat up to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. In fact, they can even survive in the intense radiation and crushing vacuum of space! Talk about a super-creature, right? Shastasaurid The creatures of the world’s oceans remain more mysterious than even the surface of the moon; deep dwelling animals are still being discovered, today, and so it is little surprise that we are still becoming aware of now extinct species. Junzi Imperialis The burials of ancient Chinese royals were very often flamboyant and outlandish affairs which displayed the wealth and importance of the person through the goods they were buried with. Even still, archaeologists were surprised to find the remains of an extinct and ancient member of the Gibbon family within the burial menagerie of the grandmother of China’s first Emperor. The Bryant Shark Thanks to recent movies and media, the public is more aware of ancient sea life than ever before. Jurassic World, and The Meg have brought huge, sea-dwelling dinos into the public eye. But while we know about the infamous Megalodon, the largest shark to ever exist, few are aware of the ongoing search for one of its ancestors Orthrozanclus Elongata With an armored back and spikes lining its sides, this 515-million-year-old critter would probably give most people a nasty scare if they were to see it in person. The cocktail-stick-like spikes on its back were longer than the creature was wide and extended like sunbursts. Discoverer Dr. Martin Smith remarks that this would have made them look rather like a cuddly cactus. We hope you enjoyed this video! Let us know which one of these animals was your favorite. And if you liked the video, like, share, subscribe and turn on notifications so you will be the first to know when we release a new video. Thank you for watching!

This abandoned water park was part of a resort that went abandoned a few years ago. The water park closed down in 2015 because kids kept getting sick with E Coli after swimming there. Holland's Barriers to The Sea

44:21
The Delta Works in the Netherlands (Holland) is the largest flood protection project in the world. This project consists of a number of surge barriers, for examples: 1- The Oosterscheldekering is the largest of the 13 ambitious Delta Works series of dams and storm surge barriers and it is the largest surge barrier in the world, 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) long. The dam is based on 65 concrete pillars with 62 steel doors, each 42 metres wide. It is designed to protect the Netherlands from flooding from the North Sea. 2- The Maeslantkering is a storm barrier with two movable arms; when the arms are open the waterway remains an important shipping route however when the arms close a protective storm barrier is formed for the city of Rotterdam. Closing the arms of the barrier is a completely automated process done without human intervention. Egypt’s Most Influential Pharaoh Last year, in 2017, National Geographic reported that archaeologists from Egypt and Germany had discovered a huge eight-metre statue submerged in ground water in Cairo. The statue at first was believed to depict Pharaoh Ramses II, who ruled Egypt over 3,000 years ago and was one of the country’s most powerful leaders. 8. Elite Tombs in Luxor The discovery of two ancient tombs in the southern city of Luxor surprised the world and brought new buzz to Egypt in 2017. Located in the the Draa Abul Naga necropolis, this area is famous for its temples and burial grounds. It is close to the Valley of the Kings where many of ancient Egypt's pharaohs were buried. 7. A Nubian King In 2008, the remains of a mysterious 2,600-year-old statue were discovered in a temple at Dangeil, along the Nile River in Sudan. However, archeologists found only parts of the statue, which meant they could not identify who it was until years later. The temple where the remains were found are believed to have once been dedicated to the Egyptian Amun. 6. The Ankhesenpepi Pyramid Archaeologists have discovered the first evidence of a long-lost satellite pyramid for the ancient Egyptian Queen Ankhesenpepi II. She was considered the most important Egyptian queen of the 6th Dynasty around 2,350 BC. She and her sister Ankhesenpepi I were both married to Pharaoh Pepi I. While the names might seem like a huge coincidence, it is most likely that they both took on the same name when they married. 5. Remains of a Musician In Timna, Israel, archaeologists discovered the mysterious remains of a pregnant woman from 3,200 years ago. This biblical-era site supposedly never had any female visitors and during the time of her the place was controlled by Egypt. This discovery last year challenged the historical understanding of experts. 4. The Statue of Ptah In 2014, archaeologists discovered a pit full of ancient goodies! Among them, a statue of the Egyptian Ptah, alongside a beautiful carved cat, a sphinx, and a Baboon. Ptah was the of craftsmen and sculptors and was worshipped in a temple at Karnak. 3. Tutankhamen’s Camping Bed When famous archaeologist Howard Carter discovered King Tut’s tomb in 1922, he also discovered some furniture in his treasury. While this might not sound that exciting compared to everything that was found, it definitely deserves its own mention. 2. A Hidden Chamber After years of analysis and exploration, researchers believed they had uncovered every secret hidden inside the pyramid of Giza, however in 2017 a new chamber was revealed! This 4500-year-old monument and wonder of the world has much more to share. Researchers used muon detectors, the by-product of cosmic rays to reveal the unidentified chamber. 1. The Two Brothers In 1907, the findings of two mystery mummies left researchers perplexed for decades, but now, thanks to DNA sequencing, scientist have finally solved the mystery!! The pair’s burial site was discovered in, a village 250 miles south of Cairo. They were found by Egyptian workmen directed Origins Explained is the place to be to find all the answers to your questions, from mysterious events and unsolved mysteries to everything there is to know about the world and its amazing animals!

Most MYSTERIOUS Archaeological Discoveries From AFRICA!

Check out the Most MYSTERIOUS Archaeological Discoveries From AFRICA! From unexplained mysteries to bizarre ancient artifacts, this top 10 list of strange discoveries will amaze you! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "REAL Mermaid Sightings Around The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/ChM0CBRmVsM Watch our "10 Sea Monsters ATTACKING A Boat!" video here: https://youtu.be/0XROvoPCDNc Watch our "STRANGEST Animals People Keep As Pets!" video here: https://youtu.be/OMa96nPqz-Y 10. Bakoni, South Africa In South Africa, on the hills around Machadodorp to the southeast of the country, are the remains of a series of structures built by the Bakoni people. The hilly countryside is covered with terraces made of stone walls and large complex of ruins. 9. The African City of Stone, Zimbabwe The Country of Zimbabwe actually took its name, in 1980, from this archaeological site…. The ancient city of Great Zimbabwe. This city of stone was the center of the region between the 10th and 15th centuries and covered an area of around 1779 acres. Now, the structures that remain include a number of stone enclosures, some of which are as tall as 36 feet (11 m). 8. Gedi, Kenya First found in 1884…. The Gedi ruins, in the Arabuko Sokoke Forest in Kilifi, Kenya, are all that remains of an ancient town- one that continues to be a mystery to archaeologists. There are no written records of Gedi, but the structures and artifacts that have been found there show evidence of a once thriving town that was both advanced and affluent before its demise at some point in the 17th century. 7. The Lalibela Churches, Ethiopia In the center of Ethiopia, about 400 miles from the capital city Addis Ababa, there’s a mountainous region that was once a site of religious significance. Here, 11 monolithic churches were carved into the rock, thought to have been built by King Lalibela in an attempt to build a ‘New Jerusalem’ in the 12th century after Muslim conquests prevented Christians from being able to travel to their holy city. 6. The Stone Circles of Senegambia The stone circles of Senegambia are a series of megalithic structures that cover an area 62 miles wide along a 200 mile stretch of the river Gambia. It’s not certain when the monuments were built, with estimates ranging between 2300 and 400 years ago. Along with the stonework, pottery, graves, and pieces of metal have also been found… showing signs of a fairly advanced society. 5. A Lost Tswana City, South Africa The Difaqane civil wars in the 1820’s led to the collapse of the majority of Tswana city-states, that once stood strong along the northern parts of South Africa. Many of them were never even documented before being abandoned, and are only now being re-discovered. 4. The Ledi Jaw, Ethiopia As the continent where the human species developed, there are still a lot of questions about our ancestral lineage- some that have been answered recently by the discovery of the Ledi Jaw. There’s a big gap in our knowledge about how our own Homo genus evolved. 3. Meroë, Sudan Egypt is, of course, well known for its pyramids… but it’s not the only country in Africa where they were built. In the desert to the east of Sudan, along the river Nile, there’s a series of almost 200 ancient pyramids, with most of them serving as tombs for the leaders of the Meroitic Kingdom. 2. Laas Geel, Somalia Laas Geel, which means ‘source of water for camels’, is a series of rock shelters and caves that lie about 34 miles northeast of the capital city of Somaliland, Hargeisa. The site is now dry, but it's near the confluence of two former rivers, which would explain why it was once known as a water source and a place with extensive evidence of human activity. 1. Olduvai Gorge, Tanzania In northern Tanzania, the Olduvai Gorge is where some of the most important discoveries have been made about our ancient ancestors. Archaeologists and Paleoanthropologists have worked in the area for more than a century, and have found stone tools and bones dating back millions of years. This means that we humans evolved in Africa. The deep ocean is the final frontier on planet Earth

14:49
Watch the latest in the Ocean series - What sharks reveal about the state of the Ocean: https://youtu.be/6xz1mxppMhY The ocean covers 70% of our planet. The deep-sea floor is a realm that is largely unexplored, but cutting-edge technology is enabling a new generation of aquanauts to go deeper than ever before. Click here to subscribe to The Economist on YouTube: http://econ.trib.al/rWl91R7 Beneath the waves is a mysterious world that takes up to 95% of Earth's living space. Only three people have ever reached the bottom of the deepest part of the ocean. The deep is a world without sunlight, of freezing temperatures, and immense pressure. It's remained largely unexplored until now. Cutting-edge technology is enabling a new generation of aquanauts to explore deeper than ever before. They are opening up a whole new world of potential benefits to humanity. The risks are great, but the rewards could be greater. From a vast wealth of resources to clues about the origins of life, the race is on to the final frontier The Okeanos Explorer, the American government state-of-the-art vessel, designed for every type of deep ocean exploration from discovering new species to investigating shipwrecks. On board, engineers and scientists come together to answer questions about the origins of life and human history. Today the Okeanos is on a mission to investigate the wreck of a World War one submarine. Engineer Bobby Moore is part of a team who has developed the technology for this type of mission. The “deep discover”, a remote operating vehicle is equipped with 20 powerful LED lights and designed to withstand the huge pressure four miles down. Equivalent to 50 jumbo jets stacked on top of a person While the crew of the Okeanos send robots to investigate the deep, some of their fellow scientists prefer a more hands-on approach. Doctor Greg stone is a world leading marine biologist with over 8,000 hours under the sea. He has been exploring the abyss in person for 30 years. The technology opening up the deep is also opening up opportunity. Not just to witness the diversity of life but to glimpse vast amounts of rare mineral resources. Some of the world's most valuable metals can be found deep under the waves. A discovery that has begun to pique the interest of the global mining industry. The boldest of mining companies are heading to the deep drawn by the allure of a new Gold Rush. But to exploit it they're also beating a path to another strange new world. In an industrial estate in the north of England, SMD is one of the world's leading manufacturers of remote underwater equipment. The industrial technology the company has developed has made mining possible several kilometers beneath the ocean surface. With an estimated 150 trillion dollars’ worth of gold alone, deep-sea mining has the potential to transform the global economy. With so much still to discover, mining in the deep ocean could have unknowable impact. It's not just life today that may need protecting; reaching the deep ocean might just allow researchers to answer some truly fundamental questions. Hydrothermal vents, hot springs on the ocean floor, are cracks in the Earth's crust. Some claim they could help scientists glimpse the origins of life itself. We might still be years away from unlocking the mysteries of the deep. Even with the latest technology, this kind of exploration is always challenging. As the crew of the Okeanos comes to terms with a scale of the challenge and the opportunity that lies beneath, what they and others discover could transform humanity's understanding of how to protect the ocean. It's the most hostile environment on earth, but the keys to our future may lie in the deep. Most Unusual Fish in the Ocean

10:03
The ocean is home to the most bizarre creatures on earth from the fish with a snake's head to one-eyed freaks of nature! 6- Salp Salp or salpa is a barrel-shaped, planktonic tunicate that moves by contracting and then pumping water through its gelatinous body. The system of jet propulsion used by salp is one of the animal kingdoms most efficient. While pumping water through its body the internal feeding filters allow it to feed on phytoplankton. Salp can be found in equatorial water, temperate and even in cold seas. They can be seen on the surface, singly although usually in long, stringy colonies. They are found in their greatest numbers in the Southern Ocean near to Antarctica. In the deep waters of the Southern Ocean they are known to form enormous swarms and are more abundant than krill. A single salp is between 1 and 10 cm tall and a single creature can asexually produce tens of thousands of individuals which will be released from the parent at a small size. They remain attached to each other in the chain, feeding and growing until the food sources becomes too inadequate to sustain the chain. 5- Lancetfish The lancet fish is a large predatory fish also known as a scale-less lizard due to its appearance. They can grow up to 2m in length although little is known about this fish except that it is found in all the world’s oceans except the Polar Regions. They have been recorded as far north as Greenland and are often caught by vessels fishing for tuna. There are two species of lancetfish, the short snouted and the long snouted. Both species have relatively long and pointed snouts. The short snouted lancetfish has a slightly shorter snout than the other species. The main feature of the lancet fish is its high and long dorsal fin. The dorsal fin contains 41 to 44 rays occupying the greater length of the fish’s back. The fin is twice as high as the fish is deep. The mouth is wide with two or three fang like teeth on each jaw with numerous smaller teeth. There are no scales present on this fish and the fins are very fragile. 4- Cornet fish Cornet fish are also known as flutemouth. There are four species that can be found in the tropical and temperate waters of the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. They can be found on soft sea floors such as sand flats, sea grasses and coral reefs. They possess an elongated snout that ends with a mouth containing minute teeth. At the other end of their body is the end of the backbone extending to a forked tail fin. The largest cornet fish can grow to up to 2m in length. The blue spotted cornet fish and the red cornet fish are found in the Oceans of the Atlantic and western Pacific as well as the Mediterranean Sea. The reef cornet fish and deepwater cornet fish are primarily found in the eastern Pacific Ocean. 3- Armored Searobin The armored searobin is also known as the armored gurnard and is found in deep waters of the world’s tropical regions. They are related to the family of searobins in the Triglidae family. They are different from searobins in that they are encased in heavy scales that feature prominent spines. They also have prominent barbells on their chins. They have large pectoral fins which when they are swimming open and close like a birds wings in flight. They are able to glide short distances above the surface of the water, similar to that of a flying fish. They prefer to be in deeper water often down to 200m below the surface. They measure about 30 to 40 cm long, with a solid skull. When caught they make a croaking noise similar to a frog. 2- Mystery Fish This unknown fish was found in a fish market in Japan. It has been researched on several sites but remains without a name. So for this final entry into the unusual fish the question is being asked. Do you know what type of fish this is? Let us know in the comment section below! 1- Fish Snake The fish snake is also known as the snakehead and is a freshwater fish native to Africa and Asia. They are an elongated predator with long dorsal fins, large mouths and shiny teeth. The fish snake is also able to breathe air through its gills allowing them to cover short distances across land. The fish snake is a notorious intentionally released invasive species becoming very successful due in part to having no natural predators in those regions it has been introduced into. Adult fish snakes will eat other fish, frogs and occasionally small mammals such as rats. There are around 40 species of fish snake with the smallest being the dwarf snakehead growing to just 25cm or 10 inches. Most species grow to between 30 and 90 cm (12-35 inches). There are 5 species that reach in excess of 1m (3ft 3in).

Friday, March 22, 2019 - China vs USA vs UK High Tension

12:06
UK to send new aircraft carrier loaded with F35 jets into South China Sea The United Kingdom will deploy its new aircraft carrier, loaded with two squadrons of F-35 aircraft into the politically-fraught South China Sea. British Defense Minister Gavin Williamson confirmed in a speech that the Royal Navy’s HMS Queen Elizabeth will sail into waters that are the subject of dispute between China and other nations. At an address given to the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) in London, Williamson said Britain was the second largest investor in the region and it must display “hard power” and “lethality” to help protect interests. The £3 billion ($3.9 billion) carrier’s outing will also sail into the Middle East and Mediterranean and will be officially a mixed U.K./U.S. deployment. “Significantly British and American F-35s will be embedded in the carrier’s air wing. Enhancing the reach and lethality of our forces (and) reinforcing the fact that United States remains the very closest of partners,” Williamson said. The U.K. defense minister did not confirm exact dates for the mission. China has laid claim to almost all of the strategic South China Sea which is viewed as important for shipping lanes and potential resources. United States destroyers USS Spruance and USS Preble sailed close to the Spratly Islands, territory disputed by China and the Philippines. China claimed that the ships entered without official permission but a spokesman for the US Navy’s 7th Fleet told CNN that the operation was to “challenge excessive maritime claims and preserve access to the waterways as governed by international law.” China is in the process of developing its own aircraft carrier capability, with currently only one considered combat-ready. According to the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) the country could have as many as 6 carriers by the 2030s. Source www.cnbc.com

Two Years On, South China Sea Ruling Remains a Battleground for the Rules-Based Order

Two Years On, South China Sea Ruling Remains a Battleground for the Rules-Based Order SUBSCRIBE my channel here: https://goo.gl/F8gn4Z G+ here: https://goo.gl/UzMJVe ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On 12 July 2016, an independent arbitral tribunal established under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) published a clear and binding ruling on China’s claims vis-à-vis the Philippines in the South China Sea. China’s response at the time was to dismiss the ruling as ‘nothing more than a piece of waste paper’.Interestingly, in the two years since then it has, in some small ways, complied with it. However, it is also clear that China’s behaviour in the South China Sea has not fundamentally changed. It is, in effect, using military force to try to extort concessions from its neighbours. That poses a threat to international peace and security. The arbitral tribunal was asked by the Philippines to rule on 15 points, of which two were particularly significant. The first was that China’s claims to ‘historic rights’ within the entirety of the U-shaped, ‘9-dash line’ that it draws on maps of the South China Sea are mostly incompatible with the internationally-agreed UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). UNCLOS is clear: entitlements in the sea have to be within areas measured from land. Secondly, the tribunal ruled that none of the Spratly Islands, nor an isolated reef known as Scarborough Shoal, are capable of supporting human habitation in their natural state. This means that none are entitled to an exclusive economic zone around them. The implication of these two rulings is that the vast majority of the resources in the southern part of the South China Sea belong to the coastal states: the Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia and Vietnam. Nonetheless China is continuing to pressure those countries to give away their rights to the oil, gas and fish. Under the name of ‘joint development’ China is continuing to demand a share of those countries’ resources even though the tribunal clearly ruled those demands illegitimate. 10 Strange Things Found Frozen In Ice Antarctica

11:11
Antarctica is one of the most mysterious places on Earth. ☃️ It’s the coldest location ever discovered, with an average temperature of -58ºF and an occasional drop to as low as -128.5ºF. ❄️ In addition, this continent remains the least explored. Antarctica has no time zones, no countries, and only 2 ATMs. We're gonna tell you about 10 mysterious and bizarre findings that have been discovered in the ice of Antarctica. TIMESTAMPS: Elongated skulls 2:42 An ancient meteorite 3:28 Ancient fossils 4:19 Petrified remains of an unusual animal 5:01 Blood waterfall 5:44 Dry valleys 6:26 100-year-old whiskey 7:23 A scary creature 8:06 An underground lake 8:43 A frozen ship 9:36 #antarctica #unusualanimal #frozeninice Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music Achilles - Strings by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution licence (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1100463 Artist: http://incompetech.com/ Evening of Chaos by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution licence (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1300041 Artist: http://incompetech.com/ SUMMARY: - This was a truly shocking discovery: 3 elongated skulls were found in Antarctica in 2014. These skulls were the first human remains uncovered in Antarctica. - For the last 50 years, people have found more than 10,000 meteorites in Antarctica. Some of them are more than 700,000 years old. - It turns out that dinosaurs used to live in Antarctica! Since the ‘80s, scientists have discovered almost a ton of fossils there. Most of these remains are more than 71 million years old. - Archaeologists made another amazing discovery in 2009: the ice of Antarctica had been hiding the fossilized remains of a unique creature. It was the size of a modern cat, but, unlike our popular pets, the animal was egg-laying. - An unaware onlooker might easily believe that the Taylor Glacier is leaking blood. Terrifying blood-red liquid indeed flows over the ice and falls into the sea. Luckily, the origin of this water isn't dramatic at all. This unusual waterfall contains so much iron oxide that it makes the water look like blood. - While Antartica is a snow-covered continent, you probably wouldn’t associate it with a lack of water. However, this land is home to one of the driest locations on our planet: the Dry Valleys. - 2 boxes of excellent Scotch whiskey were hidden in the ice of Antarctica for more than 100 years. After archaeologists discovered this unexpected treasure, they didn't remove it from its ice trap immediately because they were afraid of damaging their finding. - At a depth of 1,100 ft, American archaeologists made a truly terrifying discovery — they came across an unknown creature that didn't resemble any other living being known to people. - Scientists know of approximately 400 lakes in Antarctica. Due to incredible pressure, water stays liquid even when its temperature is below the standard freezing point. - In 1914, the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition began. Its aim was to cross the icy continent from one side to the other. 2 ships participated in the voyage. Tragically, one of them got stuck in the ice and was crushed.
