The Port of Barcelona has a 2000-year history and great contemporary commercial importance as one of Europe's ports in the Mediterranean, as well as Catalonia's largest port, tying with Tarragona. It is also Spain's third and Europe's ninth largest container port, with a trade volume of 2.57 million TEU's in 2008.[3] The port is managed by the Port Authority of Barcelona. Its 7.86 km2 (3 sq mi) are divided into three zones: Port Vell (the Old Port), the commercial/industrial port and the logistics port (Barcelona Free Port). The port is undergoing an enlargement that will double its size by diverting the mouth of the Llobregat river 2 km to the south, and slightly pushing back the Llobregat Delta Nature Reserve.

Thank you for supporting the creative commons movement !! The Port of Barcelona (in Catalan Port of Barcelona ) is a seaport Spanish, located in the northeast of the Iberian Peninsula along the Mediterranean Sea, wedged between the new mouth of the Llobregat river and the neighborhood of La Barceloneta in the city of Barcelona. It is managed by the Port Authority of Barcelona, belonging to the State Ports. The Port of Barcelona can be divided into: the commercial port (mainly containerized cargo), the citizen port (cruise ships, ferries, leisure areas, the Port Vell), power port and port logistics. Each of these activities has its own space and segregated from each other, with facilities and expert personnel. As for the transport of persons, it is the largest port in the Mediterranean in cruise traffic and the fourth in the world only behind the Caribbean ports. Allure of the Seas, the world's largest cruise ship takes cruises in the Mediterranean, having the Port of Barcelona as home port. The port of Barcelona was born while the city of Barcelona as a natural port on a beach that was between a small peninsula formed the mountain Montjuic and the old mouth of the Llobregat river. Over the centuries, the city and its port were gaining importance, to become the maritime capital of the kings of Aragon. Despite that the port remained south of the mountain of Montjuic until in the year 1378. With the successive enlargements of the port, and the accumulation of sand, the island has been joined to the mainland forming the land where today sits the neighborhood of Barceloneta. The international marine terminal A is located in the Moll Adossat port and used as a cruise ship terminal. Access to the terminal is done by Porta d'Europa bridge. The international marine terminal B is located in the Moll Adossat port and used as a cruise ship terminal. Access to the terminal is done by Porta d'Europa bridge. The international marine terminal C is located in the Moll Adossat port and used as a cruise ship terminal. It is the smallest terminal harbor cruises. Access to the terminal is done by Porta d'Europa bridge. The international marine terminal D is located in the Moll Adossat port and used as a cruise ship terminal. It is the terminal of the largest cruise port. Access to the terminal is done by Porta d'Europa bridge. The E terminal is the seventh international cruise terminal port. It has an area of ten thousand square meters and its capacity is four passenger operations in 1500 turnaround. Terminal Catalunya Hutchison opened in 2012 is the most important port terminal and one of the largest in the Mediterranean in terms of semi-automation of operations. Construction of the terminal is divided into two phases: the first and most important is operational and the second is planned. The oldest part of the port is open to the potato Barcelona, so it is very easy access to public transport. Line 3 of the Barcelona metro, at "Drassanes" direct access to the terminal area of the ferries, and bus lines 59, 14, 91, 57, 157 also allow access to the port. La Rambla in its extemal communicate with the sea port city in the Portal de la Pau, place where stands the Columbus Monument. It also offers shuttle bus service for cruise ships, and direct access to the Ronda Litoral (B-10) for access by car. An attractive way to view the port as a whole and from the heights is the Barcelona air shuttle, which crosses through the air from San Sebastian Tower in La Barceloneta, through the Jaime I Tower next to the World Trade Center, communicating the port to Montjuic mountain. The port has grown many times heading south, passing the old port of Barceloneta, by the marina in front of the old shipyard, occupying a large industrial area, the Zona Franca. When most of the current port works completed, the port will have five new integrated terminals in a redeveloped space and a quay for the large cruise ships. The coastline Barcelona has evolved a lot over the years. The costs of Poble Sec, as a natural harbor was used as a port city by Iberians and Romans commonly used until the tenth century and sporadically up the fourteenth century. Seaport of Barcelona 2017 Catalonia, Spain

The Port of Barcelona (Catalan: Port de Barcelona, Spanish: Puerto de Barcelona) has a 2000-year history and great contemporary commercial importance as one of Europe's ports in the Mediterranean, as well as Catalonia's largest port, tying with Tarragona. It is also Spain's third and Europe's ninth largest container port, with a trade volume of 2.57 million TEUs in 2008. The port is managed by the Port Authority of Barcelona. Its 7.86 km2 (3 sq mi) are divided into three zones: Port Vell (the Old Port), the commercial/industrial port, and the logistics port (Barcelona Free Port). The port is undergoing an enlargement that will double its size by diverting the mouth of the Llobregat River 2 km (1.2 mi) to the south and slightly pushing back the Llobregat Delta Nature Reserve. This is not the only port in Barcelona, as there are also two additional yacht harbors/marinas: Port Olímpic and Port Fòrum Sant Adrià to the north. The Port Vell area comprises two marinas or yacht harbors, a fishing port, a maritime station for ferries travelling to the Balearic Islands and other destinations in the Mediterranean and other stations or landing areas for cruise ships, and it abuts the industrial port. In the central area, it also houses "Maremagnum" (a shopping mall and nightlife complex), a multiplex cinema, the IMAX Port Vell (large-format cinema complex), and Europe's largest aquarium, containing 8,000 fish and 11 sharks in 22 basins filled with 6 million litres of sea water. Because it is located in a designated tourist zone, the Maremagnum is the only commercial mall in the city that can open on Sundays and public holidays. Next to the Maremagnum area are the "Golondrines", small ships that take tourists for a visit around the port area and beyond. The Barcelona industrial port is to the south and comprises the Free Port, or Zona Franca de Barcelona, a tariff-free industrial park that has developed within the Port of Barcelona, across the flat land of the Llobregat Delta between the city of Barcelona and that of El Prat de Llobregat and the Barcelona International Airport to the south. A good place to view both the industrial and pleasure port is from Montjuïc, and more specifically, from Montjuïc Castle, as well as from the aerial cable car connecting Barceloneta with the Ferry Station and Montjuïc. In common with much of Western Europe, the older traditional industries in Spain, such as textiles, declined in the face of foreign competition. The surviving companies closed their factories in the city or along the rivers, leaving industrial wastelands or abandoned workers' colonies. In many cases within Spain, these industries moved to the Zona Franca (Catalan: Polígon Industrial de la Zona Franca). The free trade area was constructed in two phases. The first phase covered an area of 70 hectares; the second phase, covering an area of 140 hectares, started construction in 1995. The free trade zone is located within the port area, not far away from downtown Barcelona, and is easy to access. It is 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) away from the Barcelona International Airport and connected via highway and railway. Business investors here rent offices or bonded warehouses. They can also elect to purchase land to erect their own buildings. The free trade zone offers a series of services. It is divided into a comprehensive service area, truck/lorry area, reception area, and sports facilities area. It has a customs duties service, bonded warehousing service, advanced telecommunication and computer system, security system, combined multiple transport system, and so on. Port of Barcelona: the main logistics hub in the Med

09:11
Corporate video of the Port of Barcelona. The Port of Barcelona is Catalonia's main transport and services infrastructure and a benchmark port in the Euro-Mediterranean area. Its area of influence stretches through the south and centre of Europe and North Africa and it is the logistics gateway linking markets as distant as the Far East and Latin America. With around 100 regular shipping lines connecting Barcelona with more than 200 ports in the five continents, Barcelona is Spain’s principal port for international traffic. It is specialised in general cargo and high value added cargo such as consumer goods, electronics products and vehicles. The Port in figures: • The Port provides 32,000 jobs. • Barcelona is Spain's leading port in terms of turnover and goods value. • 77% of Catalonia's economic activity sectors are customers of the Port. • The Port channels 73% of Catalonia's external maritime trade and 24% of the national total. • The Port moved goods worth € 61 billion in 2015. The last few years have witnessed a process of far-reaching concentration and specialisation of the terminals, which are privately managed and operated under a concessionary regime by companies in competition with each other. The Port currently has thirty goods terminals specialised in containers, vehicles, coffee and cocoa, metal products, solid and liquid bulks, and passengers. The terminals are privately owned and are operated under concession. Barcelona therefore has a highly diversified port, which we could almost describe as five-in-one: the commercial port; the energy port; the cruiser port; the logistics port; and the citizen's port, known as the Port Vell.

Cruise Ship Crashes at Barcelona Port

01:53
The Port of Barcelona is one the busiest in the world and also is a major cruise hub for all of Europe. So when a 2,200 passenger cruise-ferry collides into the pier and crane, then it’s worth informing readers about. There are multiple reports of the Excellent cruise-ferry which was arriving in Barcelona from Genoa, Italy earlier when control of the ship was lost due to bad weather. The vessel crashed into one of the dock crane head on, and as a result one of the large cranes collapsed onto the containers below. When the crane fell onto the containers, there was also an explosion, and a fire broke out. This could have occurred from the materials which were within some of the containers. Local emergency services including fire crews managed to extinguish the fire. #CruiseCrash #CruiseAaccident #CruiseCollision Don't Forget to Subscribe Us Like Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MarineOnlineYoutube Follow Twitter: https://twitter.com/MarineOnlineYou Follow Google+ https://plus.google.com/107450234425940445683 Website: https://marineonlineyou.blogspot.com/

Bautiful Sea Gulls fly in Port of Barcelona

01:35
Free video about Sea Gulls. This free video was created for you by http://epsos.de and can be used for free under the creative commons license with the attribution of epSos.de as the original author of this Sea Gulls video. Thank you for supporting the creative commons movement !! The Sea Gulls (Laridae) are a bird family within the order of Charadriiformes (Charadriiformes shorebirds and Sea Gulls or birds). Besides the actual seagulls are by some authors, the skuas (Stercorariidae), the terns (Sternidae) and skimmers (Rhynchopidae) and sometimes the Auks incorporated into this family (Alcidae). Sea Gulls are medium to large birds. They have relatively long and narrow, pointed wings and strong, slender beaks with a slightly curved upper beak down. The three forward-facing toes are webbed, a fourth, very short, toe pointing backwards or absent in some species. Sea Gulls are spread almost worldwide, the most species-rich in temperate and cold climates of both hemispheres. In many tropical regions lack breeding populations, as in the Amazon basin in South America, the Congo Basin in Central Africa, in India, Southeast Asia and New Guinea. However, some species are breeding north to spend the winter here on the coast. Seagulls are excellent gliders, especially in high winds. They search for food, especially the beach and sometimes hunt the prey from other birds. When they dive for food, then only the head and part of the body under water. Sea Gulls can be about 30 years old. Sea Gulls are pretty noisy birds, which is enhanced by their often more sociable occurrence. Her screams are expelled often ranked. Contrary to popular opinion, many Sea Gulls are not truly seabirds. Many species breed along the inland waters, and most others, the distribution is rather coast, especially during the nesting. They are generally large birds, mostly gray plumage, black or white, often with black markings on the head or wings. Peaks are robust enough long. The species vary in size from the little gull 120 g and 29 cm, at the Black-backed Sea Gulls of 1.75 kg and 76 cm. Sea Gulls feed on minimally everything edible: all kinds of marine animals, plants, insects, carrion, small birds (which attacks in flight), bird eggs (both from other species and their own), chickens, rats, etc.. If you are still alive prey usually catch them with pick and drop them from the top until they die or opened. You can often see seagulls in inland towns, distant from the coast, where they arrived following the course of rivers. His power has shifted varied coastal populations to areas where they had never seen before. These new tenants alter and even eradicate local populations of birds, which are rarely compete with a bird of this greed. The Sea Gulls are typically coastal species of marine or coastal lakes and lagoons, and fly great distances. The larger species take up to four years to attain full adult plumage, but two years most small gull species have adult plumage. It is typical to see them fly around fishing boats waiting for food. They are intelligent birds, possessing complex methods of communication and a highly developed social structure. Certain species such as Larus argentatus, exhibit complex behaviors. Hybridization between species of gull is fairly common, but depend on the species involved. They nest in colonies densely compressed, lay two or three eggs spotted a nest made of vegetation. Chicks are precocious, born with a mottled fluff and mobility after hatching. Thank you for supporting the creative commons movement !!
