A simple date-time display
In this lesson we'll implement a simple date-time display. End of lesson sandbox: https://codesandbox.io/s/2o1mmnwxvp Transcript: Hello, in this lesson we'll create a very simple date time display using Calmm. What I have here is just a minimal React application in CodeSandbox. I'll now change the application to import the React module from the Karet library. The Karet library provides an augmented `createElement` function that allows us to embed Kefir observables into VDOM. We call this feature reactive VDOM. Let's just create a Kefir observable that gives notifications at 1 second intervals. And also starts immediately. And then we'll map those notifications into strings of the current date and time. We now have a simple date-time display! Being able to embed observables directly into reactive VDOM has several benefits. In particular, - We no longer need to write class components. We can now write entire applications using only functional components, because we can use observables for state and side-effects. - Our components remain declarative, because the reactive VDOM implementation takes care of subscribing to observables when components are mounted and unsubscribing from observables when components are unmounted. - Updates to VDOM with embedded observables are efficient. Our component functions, like the `App` component in this example, are only called on mount and changed VDOM elements are rerendered without calling our component functions. This concludes the lesson. Thank you for listening!

Flash Catching Game 5 - setInterval Timer and Random Numbers
http://danscourses.com - In part 5, I use the setInterval function to create a timer to attach the objects to the movie on regular intervals. I also use the Math class' random() method to create random numbers that are used to place the attached movieclips in random horizontal locations. I also show how to make the objects dynamically attached to the stage move so they appear to be falling. Topics that are covered are the attachMovie() function, setInterval() function, the Match.random() math class and method and the onEnterFrame event handler. Flash CS6 - Actionscript 2

How to create image slideshow using JavaScript

We will be using setInterval() and clearInterval() JavaScript methods to achieve this. We discussed these functions in detail in Part 34 of JavaScript Tutorial. When you click "Start Slide Show" button the image slideshow should start and when you click the "Stop Slide Show" button the image slideshow should stop. For the purpose of this demo we will be using the images that can be found on any windows machine at the following path. C:\Users\Public\Pictures\Sample Pictures At the above location, on my machine I have 8 images. Here are the steps to create the image slideshow using JavaScript. Step 1 : Open Visual Studio and create a new empty asp.net web application project. Name it Demo. Step 2 : Right click on the Project Name in Solution Explorer in Visual Studio and create a new folder with name = Images. Step 3 : Copy the 8 images from C:\Users\Public\Pictures\Sample Pictures to Images folder in your project. Change the names of the images to 1.jpg, 2.jpg etc. Step 4 : Right click on the Project Name in Solution Explorer in Visual Studio and add a new HTML Page. It should automatically add HTMLPage1.htm. Step 5 : Copy and paste the following HTML and JavaScript code in HTMLPage1.htm page. [img id="image" src="/Images/1.jpg" style="width: 150px; height: 150px" /] [br /] [input type="button" value="Start Slide Show" onclick="startImageSlideShow()" /] [input type="button" value="Stop Slide Show" onclick="stopImageSlideShow()" /] [script type="text/javascript"] var intervalId; function startImageSlideShow() { intervalId = setInterval(setImage, 500); } function stopImageSlideShow() { clearInterval(intervalId); } function setImage() { var imageSrc = document.getElementById("image").getAttribute("src"); var currentImageNumber = imageSrc.substring(imageSrc.lastIndexOf("/") + 1, imageSrc.lastIndexOf("/") + 2); if (currentImageNumber == 8) { currentImageNumber = 0; } document.getElementById("image").setAttribute("src", "/Images/" + (Number(currentImageNumber) + 1) + ".jpg"); } [/script] Finally run the application and test it.

Labeling contour lines in ArcGIS
Contour lines are often represented by many individual line features, which can result in many more labels being placed than necessary. To avoid this problem, line features that represent contours can be treated as special types of line features. The Maplex Label Engine groups the segments of contour features, if the symbology and label match and the features are connected, and treats them as single, long features. This allows labels to be placed for the contour as a whole rather than for each segment. Contour labels can be aligned in ladders where the label will appear to step up and step down the contours in a straight (or curved) path. These ladders can be created with labels from multiple label classes. The contour labels can be aligned to the page, ensuring that the label is never placed upside down, and also aligned to the contour elevations so that the top of the label is always facing uphill. This html script element is popular amongst the web developers. Java Script uses its scripting functions to enhance the interface of a web page. It is also used in designing dynamic web pages due to its functions and scripting method. Follow this tutorial to learn how to use scripting elements in a web page. Step # 1 -- Insert a java Script code In this tutorial we will guide you on how to use scripting elements in HTML. First of all, open up the source code of your HTML page in a Text editor. Now in the "Head" tag, enter the Java script as script type = "text/javascript" Function init () { Var n = 0 E = document.getElementById("output"); setInterval(function() {e.innerHTML = ++n;}. 1000) window.onload = init; /script Step # 2 -- Insert a New Heading Once you have entered the Java Script tag, go to the "Body" tag and create a heading by inserting the Java Script recall function as h2 Start Counting: span id="output" 0 /span /h2 Now save the page and refresh the browser and you will see that the Java script has started working on the page. Step # 3 -- Change the Output Style You can also change the style of its output by adding a style function. For this purpose, go back to the source file, move over to the Style tag and enter the code as #output { Color: #900; Background-color: yellow; Border: solid black 1px; } Step # 4 -- Display the HTML In the last step, save these changes and refresh the browser to view the new style and formatting of the Java script output on the page. In this manner, you can work with the popular html script element.
